Monument Valley Overlook - Scenic spot in Mexican Hat - US-163 Scenic, USA

What a beautiful place! Such an iconic, stunning place! We arrived about 730am in hopes to watch the Sunrise, and goodness what beauty awaited us! Cost $8 for each adult, and worth every penny. The Cafe in visitor center offers a beautiful view from the balcony on the back side (you kind of have to look for the door to get out there, its between the visitor center and the cafe). The drive down into the valley floor is a bit rough, bit if you pick your line, it's no hassle to get through. We drove the rental Toyota Camry the entire length of the road (all the way to Spearhead Mesa) with no problems. We couldn't say enough awesome things about our visit! Very highly recommend!

Avant d’arriver sur Monument Valley vous parcourez la route de Forest Fumo et sa vue mythique sur l’horizon de Monument Valley. Arrêtez vous à plusieurs endroits et prenez des photos au milieu de la route. C’est traditionnel. Attention aux voitures, ne vous faites pas écraser, soyez prudents. Mais vous ferez de belles photos souvenirs.

Great overlook you should not miss. Stop and shoot a few photos. This place can be very crowded. Be careful and watch for cars.

There are huge rocks everywhere, and the road is very rough. It will take more than 2 hours if you see all the landmarks.

A true highlight of our trip out west from Missouri. We stopped just up the hill from "Forrest Gump Point" and watched people run out into the road to get their picture taken, then run back as cars approached. So of course, we had to do the same! My GF bought some jewelry from a Navajo family with a roadside stand, and their daughter helped us take some great pictures! Wish we could have visited with them longer; they were such interesting people.

The scenic drive is very good! We enjoyed it! The road is dirt, gravel and quite rough in several places. It is dusty, I would not take a passenger car on it and there are warnings not to do so. Only 4wd.

Amazing thing to witness. Got up at dawn to watch as the sun rose and started lighting up the mountains. Was just lovely to stand and just look. Free to drive the road. There are tours you can pay for, we didn't have time but might do it on another visit.
