Monument Mountain Motel - Motel in Great Barrington - 247 Stockbridge Rd, USA

We are longtime fans of the Monument Mountain Motel and the owners, who are very welcoming, work extremely hard, and are on the premises. They provide excellent recommendations for things in the area, too. We like coming here in the summer for concert-going and hiking as well as winter hikes. If you are here in the summer their flower beds are a riot of color and beauty. It is very close to several state parks, Berkshire Trails paths, Monument Mountain and the ecletic mix of independent businesses along route 7 and in the downtown of Great Barrington. The bed and pillows are so comfortable and the bathroom is spacious, white and immaculate. Nice toiletries too(Paul Mitchell/Matrix). It feels like things used to be in the days of the roadside motel.

I decided to stop in the Berkshires for a few nights during a drive through New England. I chose this motel because of its rating and value. I called to inquire about availability when I was about 30 miles away. Crystal was very pleasant and offered me an attractive rate. I couldn’t have been happier with the accommodations. It’s not a chain hotel nor was I expecting it to be. It’s a smaller classic style motel with nice rooms and great service. At check in, Crystal went out of her way to recommend things to do and see, and places to eat. And my room was very clean, with a large modern updated bathroom and a very comfortable bed. I slept better than I had in ages. And I was able to park right in front of the room which was very convenient for bringing in my luggage. And the motel was convenient to all the popular sites of the Berkshires. The main street of Great Barrington is nearby with lots of cool restaurants and shops. I’m already looking forward to a return trip to the Berkshires and glad that I have found a great place to stay.

Attracted by the price of $91 a night for 2-night mid-week stay in a single-queen room. Office clerk walked me to my room, opened the door and confirmed the TV and AC were working ok, and left. Room was neat and clean, slightly run down but not worth complaining about. Big bathroom, plenty of towels and hot water, working TV, microwave, and refrigerator.||Though inexpensive and moderate amenities, you don't really get a negative vibe from the people staying there. There's a Subway, market, and gas station right across the street, and plenty of restaurants close by. Very convenient location to visit Great Barrington and the area.||They also made up the room the one complete day I stayed. When I stayed at Paris Las Vegas, they only made up the room twice in 7 days.||The desk person was polite and helpful.

Basic, clean, comfortable, dated accommodations. Clean bathrooms. No frills. Good value considering the proximity to Butternut. Owners are very gracious.

My husband works in western MA 2-3 days/week, so instead of driving back to Worcester county each night, we opted to stay somewhere close by. We were looking for something based on the location and price, and we came upon the Monument Mountain Motel. Initially we tried to book the room through Expedia (since it was cheaper to book through them), but we never got the confirmation code. When we arrived we asked if they received the reservation and they had not, so I asked if they would honor the discount offer by Expedia, and they did! Not only did they honor the discount, they exceeded it! The lady working the desk was exceptionally kind and pleasant and got us checked in very quickly. We stayed in room 24 and were pleasantly surprised with the how comfortable the bed was and especially how clean the room was. The MMM is in close (walking or driving) proximity to many restaurants, grocery and liquor stores. 10/10 will stay here agin!

More affordable option with clean rooms, comfortable beds, friendly owner. Great location for exploring Stockbridge, the Berkshires, leaf-pepping. Good eats nearby. Loved the 60’s style motel with parking entrance. Owner has updated bathroom. Plenty of electrical outlets. Met all of our needs - CLEAN, comfortable beds, SAFE area, PRICE, & location.

Overall, it was fine and would stay again if I wanted a budget option. We stayed in room 11.||Pros: exceptionally quiet inside room even though there was no vacancy so I know the other rooms were taken, cheapest option in the area when we were looking, very good AC, fridge and microwave in room||Cons: room and bathroom were small. Space between bed and dresser was maybe a tad over a foot and this was the passage to the bathroom, no bedside table on one side of the bed.||Key notes: do not pick this room if you'll have wet gear (e.g. bathing suits). There is truly no place to hang things besides over the shower wall and that space gets taken by your towels. ||Management tip: a few hooks in the bathroom would be a huge win. I hate having nowhere to hang a towel

We stayed overnight for a family event. The staff was very accommodating. The room was affordable and was very clean and tidy. The motel provides the basics, nothing extravagant but that’s not what we were looking for. We just wanted a good place to stay and we found it. The shower was powerful and had plenty of hot water. The bed (king) was firm but very comfortable. Despite being on the main road we were not bothered by road noise. We will be staying here again. I recommend.
