Monterrey Mexican Restaurant - Mexican restaurant in Tucker - 3865 Lavista Rd, USA

Pretty much what we expected. Good, but standard food options and margaritas. Inside and in the outdoor dining areas are standard Mexican fare. Great service. This place can accommodate larger groups and is busy most evenings. It has a bar and private dining area in the back. We had an early dinner that included a large grilled steak nachos supreme and several frozen margaritas.

Large menu. Friendly service, though was left waiting in the end. Was going to order dessert but didn’t because of wait. Alright food. Fajitas tastes a little overcooked and had an odd flavor from sitting on grill plate. Probably wouldn’t go back.

My job ordered take out and it was ok. The steak was a little tough but adding pico helped. I’ve eaten at the restaurant before and was ok then too. The outside seating was nice.

Gave it another try after bad service and drinks during the pandemic. New, much smaller menu had good food and good margaritas. Sat on the patio and enjoyed cool summer evening.

The staff was very friendly and the food was the BEST Mexican we ever ate!!

Do NOT call and place a togo, there is a 75% chance of a “misunderstanding” and your food will be wrong. I placed an order and repeated it back to make sure, and was still charged and received something that was completely different from what i had ordered on the phone 10 minutes prior. After calling to talk about the misunderstanding and potentially buy myself a brand new burrito the man on the phone was very blunt and seemed like he didn’t want to talk or help. The call ended with him saying “sorry bye” and not even offering a replacement burrito that i WOULD have PAID for, or even asked if i wanted a new one.

This is exactly the type of Tex-Mex place you’d want in your neighborhood. Service is excellent, staff is friendly, easy to accommodate large parties and kids. Food is typical fare and nothing special, but I don’t care. I want chips, queso, frozen margs, and some fajitas. Though I’ll say they’ve improved their tortillas recently! So happy to have an easy, tasty, inexpensive place like this close to home.

Pretty decent restaurant. Food was absolutely tasty. Loved how fast they made it too. The service however, was a bit off. We waited more than 20 minutes after asking for the check. This made it a bit uncomfortable, especially since it was our first time there and we really needed to get back to work. Besides that, the atmosphere was pleasant. Very nice and clean.
