Monterey Motel - Motel in Long Beach - 1777 Cherry Ave, USA

One tip of advice do not book . It is a cheap place to stay is the ONLY PERK. When you go to check in even during regular business hours it is a window that you go to that is mirrored you can’t see them at all. They ash how many days your staying and then tell you price you hand them the card and they say no refunds immediately . Get a key to a room 2 stairs to go into the room once you open the door all you see is a fridge and microwave cart with a used ash tray when there is no smoking in the room . The room was painted purple with another shade of purple to cover up the bullet holes in the wall, a seafoam green was coming through parts of the paint . The crown molding was painted gold and ceiling was a white but had not been painted in about 30 years . Nice shutters that were navy blue. The bathroom was a brown paint with no toilet paper holder and purple paint to cover holes . It was missing all of the tile in front of the shower solid concrete .. lighting horrible , screen busted out in bathroom syringes out the window . You could hear alllllll of the road noise , neighbors talking most of all you get to hang with ROACHES

My stay here for 2 weeks in 2016 was great. I enjoyed my stay here without interruptions. I felt safe and had total privacy. Communication with management is great because they are straightforward. I also enjoyed taking care of my space here. Making sure to clean up after myself. Exchanging out linens and even asking permission for access to housekeeping essentials like mop and broom to tidy up during my stay was very helpful. I plan on staying here again because of great value, privacy and easy access to bus lines.

Positive: Nothing Negative: Everything. Rude staff. No furniture in room. Tried to double charge us.

It was Disgusting. There are no end tables so it's just a bed in the middle of the room. The Rooms were Dirty. As Evening approached...I started noticing Both Roaches and Bed Bugs Scurrying Across the Floor. Hands Down the Grossest and Most Infested Place Ive ever Slept. The people at the window counter weren't friendly or helpful either.

Hooligans and thieves. Black mold and cok roaches. They come to the door at 11:10 after being told at 11:05 that the $25 we need to complete the $83 payment is in a Lyft only 5 minutes away, which it literally was. She yells and screams something… to get teh hell off her property (our stay had been problem free and quiet mind you), and at 11:10 she shows up with a goon with a gun. Threatening physical violence, barging in the room, driving me out and then a second guy comes in and pulls a gun out on tony, my partner. He’s rushed out the door, adn of course they profit by denying that my iPhone SE is in there. We see it clearly on the screen and when asked later, we are again threatened with out lives and driven off the site, being told lies that they dont have it when findmy app clearly places it, charging, in their office. Of course police dont care, and she gets to keep the phone. I reiterate…. We did NOTHING to gain her wrath or disgust other than simply existing. *If this place burns to the ground, Long Beach will be a happier, more welcoming city by far. Shame on them.. SHAME on you, “Monterey Motel” for you’re disgusting and shameless scare tactics, unwarranted manufactured belligerence and unlawful use of firearms and physical threats to steal valuable property for your own gain. So I got kicked out of where I lived this is the cheapest for the night at 125 total for the room key and deposit 35 in cash so I'm here until the shelter opens up tomorrow so I have to be here unless I sleep on the street I would never come here again the in room microwave doesn't work rooms are horrible looking bathrooms are just as bad I was better off spending that money at a more expensive hotel only decent thing it's there's a bunch of stores around here for food

Clean rooms, hospitality was great , the location is excellent the beach is literally down the road maybe a half mile. Theirs a convenience store across the street, a laundry Matt next door a gas station, and a chicken restaurant across the street. It’s a gated complex with security cameras only one entrance and exit.

Negative: There were roaches. The first room I was given did not have appliances. The entire unit was really dirty. Stuff smeared all over the walls. There was old food in the bathroom on the floor. There wasn't any room to put our belongings.
