Thanks a lot! It’s not enough to say that we liked the thongs, we were really delighted!! and although we only stayed for a day, we managed to fall in love with this place!!! stunning area with beautiful nature, the opportunity to go boating on the lake, we even managed to play table tennis and jump on a trampoline 😁👌 And also do a family photo shoot! I want to express my special delight to your nutrition system! it was truly delicious and varied food for all family members. And the super friendly staff made our stay simply magical!

Montecito Sequoia Lodge was perfect for our trip to Sequoia National Park. We stayed in a queen room. The room was clean with ample space for our things, the bathroom was of generous size and there was a mini fridge and microwave. There’s no AC in the rooms, which seems common in this area. There was a quiet ceiling fan in our room that worked great. The meals we had were all great. We loved that we didnt have to think about what and where to eat on our trip. We just showed up at mealtime and ate what was being served. If you’re not a super picky eater, i dont think you’d have any complaints with the food. They have smores every evening also, but we were too full from dinner and dessert to partake in those. In the morning, there is a sandwich station set up so you can make sandwiches to take with you for the day. They came in very handy so we didnt have to come back for lunch. We didnt plan any hikes ahead of time, but the staff were very helpful with that. They gave us a map and highlighted all the trails that they thought were must see’s. Overall we felt very at home at Montecito Sequoia Lodge and loved that our meals were included. If i was returning to the area, i would definitely stay again.

Prime spot, awesome staff, great food! I stayed when the main road to the lodge was washed out so I had to take a detour (which was pleasant and nice). Only reason I mention the detour road is if you have a car extremely low to the ground, you would be stressed going up the dirt/rock road. 5/5 tho !

Hi! We just spent our first (of many to come, I hope) week at Montecito Sequoia Lodge for Summer Family Camp. My husband was here 35 years ago and this year is their 60th year in operation. I don't know exactly how they have done it but these people KNOW what they are doing. We had the most AMAZING time and by Day 2 of our week-long stay, we already knew we would come back. If the price tag makes you hesitant - I will tell you it is 150% WORTH IT. As someone who plans and budgets and is very conscious of cost - this week was a fantastic way to spend that $$. Break it down daily and you will totally see the value. You get lodging (and I will be honest, it could use some updating but everything is functional and clean), HOT buffet meals 3 times a day (everything is delicious, artfully prepared, I'm astounded at the tasty vegan/vegetarian options!), snacks/drinks all day long, activities (4 scheduled periods a day plus Pow Wow in the mornings, evening special events every night, and other events like sunset/sunrise hikes), lake access with boating and swimming, with some options for other things at very reasonable prices: horseback riding for all ages, massage, BABYSITTING services. The way the activities work for ages 2-13: counselor led day camps during the 4 periods (parents have to pick up for mealtimes), each day is a rotation of activities and the kids can either follow their group or stick with their parents to do other activities and you can mix and match which is what we did. We often had TOO MANY OPTIONS. My little one LOVED her group (Yeah Marmots!) and while my older one didn't stick her her group as much - she still enjoyed her time there because THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO. There is also an Artist in Residence (Bonjour Mike!) who has art projects daily for you to participate in - painting, collage, postcard making, murals. Adults can choose to do activities during the open periods and their are ones such as hiking, mountain biking, paintball that are more geared towards adults and can span several periods (this is where babysitting comes into play!). The evening events include Coffee House, Dance Party, Variety show - all are super fun and not TOO LATE since there's POW WOW in the mornings you don't want to miss - it's a wake-up call/announcements/get-to-know you/funny skits about the place. Honestly my favorite part of the mornings. The STAFF are top-notch - super friendly and just people you'd WANT to hang out with just because (shout-out to Opal, Aspen, Echo, Knuckles, Bucket). . .they really CARE about you and your experience there and it totally comes through. If the location wasn't breath-taking (which it absolutely is!), the staff MORE than make up for it but since the location is crazy beautiful. . .having such fabulous staff is like the cherry on top of a sundae! We are NOT outdoors people and this vacation was PERFECT for us - just the right amount of outdoorsy things but plenty of indoor & low-key activities too. We would totally go back next year (but we're already going to Hawaii) . . . so we will be back the following year. And if Hawaii is our alternative, can you imagine how high we're rating THIS PLACE. Yay Week 6 of 2023! -EM

This place is just amazing! I cannot say enough good things about it. The service and staff is exceptional, they are very very friendly and always with a smile. All meals are included, and the food is good. The 24h snack bar and leftovers option in the fridge is very thoughtful. You can make sandwiches for your day hiking before you leave in the morning. The room was clean and we enjoyed a very large bed. It was a place we genuinely looked forward to going back to at the end of the day. Without question, we will stay here every time we come to Sequoia!

Wow - what a wonderful visit to the big trees! We have come here twice and will certainly come again. We like to stay here during off peak season when it more quiet and the rates are much more reasonable. We booked a room at the lodge which is attached to the main area where food is served and activities are happening. Visiting this place is a great way to unwind and be away from technology without having to "rough it" in any way. There are board games, a fire place and couches, a ping pong table and a foosball table all available to use when you aren't out enjoying the trees. Food- I have to make a huge mention about the food. We are a vegetarian family and boy, did they accommodate our vegetarian and vegan preferences for food! Every breakfast they made sure there was something hearty out for non-meat eaters - not just toast and cereal. I'm talking about tofu and veggie scramble and fake bacon/sausage along with the other standard breakfast fare like toast, bagels and pancakes- it was all delicious. The same care and attention was put into lunch and dinner, as well. All we had to do was notify them of our dietary preferences before the trip. Throughout the day, if anyone was hungry for a snack, fruit, tea or coffee, there was plenty of it. They even keep a fridge for guests with leftovers from the night before in case someone is really hungry. We were really appreciative of the care they put into the food for our hungry vegetarian family! This place would be a wonderful spot to come with friends or extended family. We will be back!

Reservation canceled within a month due to property damage issues. I understand they may not have been able to help this but I'm left searching for a replacement with very little time in a sparse area. Alternatives are all 3x or more what I had originally paid. Please plan better

We've stayed at Montecito twice: Once in the winter with a couple of friends and once in early autumn with our teenage son and his best friend. We loved it both times!! (So did Yoda ;) )We had our third trip planned but they had to cancel our reservation due to extreme storm conditions, but we're already trying to figure out when we can get there next! I highly, HIGHLY recommend MSL for families and friend group getaways!
