Montalvo Hill Park - Park in Ventura - Tanager St, USA

Love this park, many memories with my kids..

wish it had a swing set!! but its a small playground, with a big field. (I'd say more dog focused, for fetch amd stuff)

I had a wonderful time with a group of friends from work. We got together to play couple games of basketball, BB court was nice and clean and in good condition as the park was as well. It's a nice park to have picnic with family and friends and also great for your companion. Recommend Montalvo Hill Park. One last thing.... Park is surrounded by townhomes. It still a great park.

This could be a great setup, but one of the bathrooms is always locked, the water fountain doesn't work, and one of the trees is falling over. It's the closest one to my daughter's school, though, and there's more than enough there to keep her busy. It's almost always empty, too, which is great for any parents that should be watching their children closer than they actually do. Nobody will run off with your kids unless you fall asleep.

Montalvo Hill Park is a relatively small stretch of green space that has a few nice walking paths between S. Victoria Avenue shopping and a development of private homes at the top of the hill. There's a nice playground for children, and sometimes the grass is actually green. It would be a much nicer place to walk your dog or take your kids if it weren't for several fools who allow their big dogs to run around off leash, pooping everywhere, and terrifying other dogs, their owners, and even little kids. They ignore the clearly posted signs prohibiting off-leash dogs, and neither Animal Control nor the police seem to care.

I like this park to run my dog with a Chuck-it. There's lots of room...grass is somewhat worn in places, but safe for paws. Nice little play area for children, but no shaded areas.

My kids begged me to let them play at this park, so I let them play there for about 10 minutes. It's really more of a private park for the residents that live above the shopping area where I had just taken my kids to get their haircut. I wish I'd had a park so close to my house when I was a kid!

This is a flag shaped park, with a nice playground and basketball courts. The big end of the park is a large flat area of grass perfect for field sports. The narrow area is long and has a walkway extending to Victoria road. Around the middle of the park, near the end of the shopping and business parking lots, has a few basketball hoops (actually it's a full court) next to a nice sand - You may see a few homeless folks near the bushes in front of the wall dividing the neighborhood and the park. I've never had any issues with them, they keep a low profile and with the criminal lack of affordable housing in the early 2020's the crisis of homelessness is going nowhere but up so, if you're like me and the thought of homelessness in a state reporting multi-$billion surpluses in recent years is senseless and cruel (even for California), let's do something to change it! Pestering Ventura County and Sacramento will go a long way and no one - no one! - should be homeless in the 21 century, it's heartbreaking, it's cruel and it's rampant. Sorry, rant off... Overall this is a great park for many activities, all except kite flying. There are high voltage lines directly over the length of the park so kites, mylar balloons, model planes and drones aren't allowed. The park is right next to restaurants, Panda Express, El Pollo Loco and Sumo Japanese are a few of the restaurants next to the park. Walmart and Carl's Jr are on the other side of Victoria avenue.
