Mona Lisa Motel - Motel in Inkster - 28725 Michigan Ave, USA

My husband and I had to leave an unsafe living arrangement with our 8 year old daughter very unexpectedly. We left with no money or plans or even any idea that we were going to be needing to stay at a motel or hotel at all last Wednesday abruptly. We called around to about three different places and this place was the cheapest so we came here with no intentions on staying more than one night until we found something better. My biggest concern of course is our 8 year old daughter being here and her safety. Just from the stories that I've heard alone I wasn't expecting anything more than a one-star room, any kind of service, cable, refrigerator , or any amenities for that matter. It is now as of today Sunday July 14th so we have been here for a little over a week. I definitely judged a book by its cover. Everything I thought was actually wrong. We came in the room and it actually did not need to be cleaned. Both beds had clean linens the bathroom had fresh towels and washcloths. I was very surprised to learn that there was a TV with cable and HBO with that. There is free Wi-Fi. I would have to say that it is kid-friendly because there's always something on for my daughter to watching YouTube or Play games. She also zooms her grandparents that live out of state. Without the cable or Wi-Fi she would be bored out for mine by now. The owner who manages this building is never just sitting in his office he's constantly doing things to make sure all of the rooms have what they need, if something needs to be repaired he repairs it. He keeps up on the lawn maintenance as well as the appearance of his parking structure on the inside as well as the appearance from the main street. It stays very quiet here, there is never any drama or people being loud like you would think or people would say. I have not seen one cop car here or any criminal activity for that matter. He is always very polite never in a bad mood. He actually goes out of his way to say good morning and askes how his guests are and if they need anything multiple times throughout the day. So you definitely get what you're paying for and a little more I guess you could say because of the great hospitality and politeness.

The only reason why I’m giving it a 1 star is because I can’t give it a 0. Thy DONT HAVE HEAT! it’s the middle of the winter and they have no form of heat! They don’t warn you or nothing Gotta be a lawsuit waiting to happen

Okay this place is extremely dirty and I don't think they even clean the rooms at all. For the price I get it- it's not going to be the Hilton but they could at least vacuum and change the sheets, which literally had cigarette burns all over them. Owners and employees are nice but they Def need to upgrade furniture, and clean the rooms regularly.

The owner Jay is very kind as is his wife. Very reasonably priced. Jay has integrity... He cleans the room of a guy with no legs daily without complaint or charging extra. If I need a couple hours to get the money he is understanding and never makes me feel bad about it... He shovels the snow himself for the whole property. Hard working,kind, respectful man. I snuck my dog in the first week or so I was here and when he found out he simply asked that I take her out back to do her business... Wasn't mad... No extra charge... Since then I have been up front and honest with him (if I need extra time to pay or whatever) and everything has been more than exceptional.

Staff is great, clientele is questionable & the room needed a total makeover. Just dirty.. After showing the staff the condition of the room, they told me that they were redoing the room. New paint, new carpeting would be installed. And since we were checking out today, we would be more than welcome to come back and see the improvements. Very friendly staff willing to help in any way they can.

The pricing is the best you're going to find within at least 15 miles. The rooms are nothing special but a clean comfortable place to sleep. No bugs at all. The owner is very nice a resonable man. All in all this I would call this an up and coming motel that is improving everyday.

Don't rent room 13 it has bugs. Which means at least 14 and 12 have them too if not all. Use caution

Worst place I've ever stayed in, looks bad smells bad. Nice view of the scrap yard. The room gets the job done, but has a lot of room for improvement. Maybe worth half a star, which is only saying you can stay here if it's your only option
