The Mojave Desert Inn is a good place to stay if you are passing through the area. We stayed for one night as we were passing through Mojave towards Los Angeles, and had a good night rest here. We stayed in room 11, which was clean, with working AC, fridge, coffee machine, clothes iron, TV (we didn't use it) and unexpectedly good WiFi (easily 1080p60). The location is off the main road and it was very quiet, which was a welcome change compared to some other motels we stayed at. The outside of the building is a bit rundown, but this was not really important to us. We paid $65 (including tax) for the night which we believe to be a good price. Initially the air in the room was a bit stale, mainly due to the 100 degree (37 Celsius) weather outside. This went away quickly after opening the windows (they have insect screens) for a few minutes, after which we closed them and turned on the AC. We didn't have any issues for the rest of our stay.
People need to understand that Mojave California is a bit of a rundown town. We stay here when driving from San Diego to Sacramento as it cuts the drive into 2 days. We have stayed in several of the hotels in Mojave. They are all fairly run down without exception. We decided to try the Desert Inn after horrible experiences with Motel 6, actually both of them as there are two in town. Unlike Motel 6 the rooms were clean and the motel was quiet. The motel is run by a very nice couple and we had nothing but a good experience. For those of you spending the night in Mojave you must understand it is a town that has fallen on a bit of hard times. The best advice we can give is to stay at the Desert Inn and then have dinner at the Thai restaurant. The best Thai food that we have had in some time.
I had an extended stay here recently..older single story from the 70's but the room was very clean and had large fridge and also microwave..direct TV. Very quiet away from the railroad tracks..the people that run the place are absolutely the best. They treated me like family. Reasonable price at $65.
I don't know who is writing the reviews but this place is a dump. Do not stay here!!! There was a burn hole in our bedspread, the heater didn't work well, the room was dirty: dusty lamps, moldy baseboards, etc. We were woken up at 7am by shouting. The owner was arguing with the person next door over a $20 pet fee. At one point that owner was face to face with the person about to get into a physical altercation.
A pleasant surprise! Someone has put a lot of effort into updating this motel. our room was clean and smelled clean (like nothing at all!) the bathroom had new flooring and tile work. We had room 14: 2 queens, Mini-fridge and microwave, mini coffee maker, table and 2 chairs. Bedding and towels very clean! Beds are very firm, which made my husband happy. A/C unit worked well and gave us some welcome white noise. The family running the motel was so friendly!
The rooms are very small, but extremely clean. The bathrooms have been refurbished and are immaculate and the cost of the room was pleasantly surprising. The staff was very pleasant, and the location is far enough away from the train tracks that the horns and whistles do not disturb your sleep, unlike other hotels right on State Route 14.
Enjoy this please. Owners are awesome people. Never have am issue getting a room. Rooms are always clean and the place is quiet. Park across the street to let to let dog run! Will always come back here when traveling through or to Mojave.
Just the basics, but the basics done above and beyond by a kind couple who genuinely want to see that you have a comfortable night under their roof. The room was crisp and clean. The walls looked as though they'd been repainted yesterday! I was surprised to find a fridge/freezer, microwave, and coffee maker in addition to the AC which burbled to life without hesitation. Add a 32" flat screen with Dish TV at no extra charge (heck they only charge Mo6 rates to begin with) and I'm beyond sold. The shower water is HOT and the pressure is BOLD. Time to unwind and get a good nights sleep. Oh, and guess what? WHAT!? Yep. Complimentary breakfast served in the office. I had no idea. Bonus round orange juice just in time to double check the motor before you hit the road again. I would return in a heartbeat if/when the chance arose. Keep it in mind America!
Comfort Inn and Suites Mojave staff was welcoming and easy to work with from the very beginning. Our team organized a 60-person meeting a few weeks ago. The entire staff at the hotel was very welcoming and provided exceptional customer service - from
