We were passing through this city and we were very pleased that we had dinner at this restaurant. The restaurant felt the atmosphere and spirit of antiquity and the sea... The dishes were delicious, the service was unobtrusive, and the walls around were reminiscent of a maritime theme. no wifi! I recommend!🥰
I wanted so badly for this place to be a good experience. And while the waiter, food and old-school decor were all as advertised unfortunately the experience was soured by a couple of people behind the bar at some sort of desk area right there in plain sight. Those two just seemed to be complaining to one another about almost everything and it made for a very negative experience from a customer experience standpoint.
I probably won’t go back and definitely would not recommend anyone to go to a place that’s ‘leadership’ seems to carry themselves that way.
Food was great. My mom and grandma have been coming for yrs. Told me i had to get the shrimp salad. It was so good can see why they told me to get it. Seafood platter had quite a bit of variety.
Food and service was amazing! Best oysters I’ve had in this area! Medium rare steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection! Beer mugs could’ve been bigger 😂 No complaints!
Our meal looked wonderful and I feel it would have tasted better if it had not been cold. Fridays are busy, I know, but three tables that came in long after we did were served long before us. I was sorely disappointed, as I had high hopes for a delicious seafood lunch beforehand.
I had the pleasure of dining at Mohawk Seafood Tavern recently, and it was truly a delightful experience. I'm thrilled to give this establishment a well-deserved five-star review.
Let's start with the food – it was exceptional. The catfish platter I ordered was not only delicious but cooked to perfection. The catfish was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and it came with a side of perfectly seasoned fries that complemented the dish perfectly. Each bite was a savory sensation, and it's evident that the chefs here take great pride in their culinary creations.
Now, regarding the service, while it was generally good, there were a few moments when it was a tad slow. However, it's essential to note that the staff was friendly and accommodating throughout the evening. They took the time to explain the menu, make recommendations, and ensure our dining experience was pleasant. The occasional delay in service can easily be overlooked when the overall hospitality is so warm and welcoming.
The ambiance of Mohawk Seafood Tavern also adds to the overall charm of the place. The nautical-themed decor and cozy seating create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're on a romantic date or enjoying a meal with friends, the restaurant's setting makes for an enjoyable dining environment.
In conclusion, Mohawk Seafood Tavern is a must-visit for seafood enthusiasts, especially if you're a fan of their catfish platter. The outstanding flavors of their dishes, along with the friendly service, more than make up for any minor service delays. I left the restaurant with a full stomach and a big smile, and I can't wait to return for another memorable meal. Five stars all the way!
The staff is AMAZING! The food is delicious and has that old fashion twist to it. I loved the food but the staff brought it home for me! They were very friendly, thoughtful, and great listeners. We have small kids and the waiter acknowledged them and asked them what they would like to eat. The waiter listened to them and was very patient. As a mother this stole my heart because small children are sometimes overlooked and don’t get the chance to order independently due to waiters or parents lack of patience.Thank y’all for making my night!
The photos are from oysters I ordered and took home to eat. They’re always fresh and well packaged!
Best oysters on the half shell ive tasted in way too long. My home state. From the gulf. Upper medium in size and really fresh with natural good flavors. The staff here were kind and helpful. If 6 stars were available id give them that instead of five. I only had oysters, but seen amazing dishes others were eating seen the pleased faces they gave upon their first bite. Hopefully i pass through here again and can eat other menu items but i doubt i wont just get lots more oysters. Draft beer was cold.

The food was worth the wait! Hot and fresh. The seafood was fresh with no fishy smell, reasonable prices . Really enjoyed the meal. The seafood platter was roughly $15 with shrimps, oysters, stuffed crab, fish strips, fries, coleslaw, ans ranch bean
We have gone to Captain D's on & off during business trips for years & found this restaurant & staff extraordinary!! We even ordered additional Tiger Sauce each visit to take home to our FL residence. We intend to visit again soon as a retired coup
I came out and tour the apartments I met with this lady name Kendra. She was very nice and sweet! Also very professional. She showed me around the apartments. I was very pleased at what I seen. I signed my lease the same day! Highly recommend if you
Man, oh, man. When I think of good food and where I should travel to eat good food, Monroe, Louisiana, doesn't even crack the top 100 on my list. But after eating at Parish, Monroe is in my top five! Hidden away in an industrial area, Parish comes up
Our kids (ages 11 & 7) really enjoyed our quick visit to this awesome military and aviation museum! First of all itâs totally FREEâ¦.canât beat that! Secondly the staff were so friendly and walked us around each room, answering questions and sho
Came here for some grilled oysters after a disappointing stop at another spot. Place was very nice. Great view of the river. Great service and the oystersâ¦. Chefs kiss! The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was bomb too!
Just had a quick hour to spend, and glad we did! There was a program promoting hunting and fishing while we were there, so it was pretty loud and busy. But one of the park attendants caught us and filled us in on where to go for the short hour we had
This is about the only place in Monroe that you can find hot tamales. There is another place but they don't stay open year round. We have been eating at Southside Coney Island for triple digit years. Yes try them out. You won't be disappointed.
Place is usually easy to get in and out of. Frozen meals make busy days' dinner easy. Better than frozen grocery store, not quite homemade. Bakery items are always fresh and good.
Outstanding food, people are so friendly, great selection and great price. I had fried chicken, yams, butter beans, cornbread, and cake. Can't wait to visit again!
