Tried this place out on 3/23/23. My Wife had the smothered chicken over rice, black eyed peas, collard greens, and cornbread. I had the baked chicken, green beans, macaroni, and roll. My Daughter had just a side of collard green, and fried okra. My Wife said the peas were a little salty, but still good. My Daughter said the greens were good, but had a little heat to them. My chicken was very tender, and seasoned good, as well as the green beans. The macaroni, just was not up to my expectations. I really cook a macaroni, and even though it wasn't bad, it was not good. I started to post a pic of my macaroni, to show you what it should look like. The staff was very nice, and it seemed to be liked by a lot of people. While I was there, someone came in for dinner with their daughter, because the mother had it for lunch. I won't take any points off for the macaroni, but I would suggest making the macaroni sauce more cheesier, and topping with a layer of block cheese. I will probably be returning again.

First time coming to this Restaurant. I was in the mood for some good soul food, and I have to say I was not disappointed at all. The food was fresh cooked. The gentleman that greeted us was very sweet and welcoming. He was very sweet towards my kids and while we waited he offered us drink and would make conversation with us, which I had told him I was new in town and we had just come back from a day trip. My kids food, was good- chicken strips with mac and cheese, and my son had to have fries but crispy and he loved them. And of course they were extremely happy to see cookies 🍪 with it. My food was so good and I have to say I would go back again and recommend it. I missed the entrance at first but once I noticed where it was and went in, their food speaks for itself. Thank you for your kindness and fresh food 😌.

So I got the veggie plate (fried okra, Mac and cheese and collard greens with roll), chicken sandwich (with fries), cornbread, chocolate chip cookies and coconut cake. The sandwich was very dry as the chicken patty had no flavor besides the flavor of the bun. The veggies were okay; the collard greens were not that good, the fried okra was decent but the Mac and cheese was underwhelming. The roll was basic. The corn bread was good. The cookies were very underwhelming, very sugary. Best part; coconut cake, I personally like coconut, but it’s great texture and flavor. The icing is overwhelming with sweetness but still great. Hoping everything was made in-house but not going here again any time soon.

This was a pleasantly surprisingly good place to eat my favorite comfort foods. The first bites of collard greens and mac and cheese immediately took me back to Sunday dinners after church service when the older women of the church prepared the best soul food. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. This is now a new favorite spot for soul food. The owner informed me he’s going to start holding live music performances on Sundays.

I’m a Southern girl from Florida. I was raised on good soul food that my Mema put her heart into. But what I had for dinner tonight practically outshone her cooking. The fried ribs and smothered pork chop were so tender and seasoned perfectly. The rice and gravy was mouthwatering. The yams were tender and just as sweet as they should be. The black eyed peas were just amazing. And the macaroni and cheese? I was floored at how perfect it was. The biscuit were delicious.The final part of my meal was this beautiful slice of homemade strawberry cake. This was my favorite when I was growing up in my Memas house. This one took me back. I felt like I was a little girl sitting at her grandmothers table while eating this cake tonight. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love you put into your food. I even took the time to call and speak to the owner personally to tell him how happy his food made me. That’s how good it was. My husband is a truck driver and I travel with him all over the country. Getting back down south to my roots and enjoying a treat like this made for a perfect night.

Where to begin? I ordered Crispy Chicken, greens, yams, potatoe salad, cornbread and banana pudding cake. The cake and yams were the only two things that I can say was good. The collards were salty as was the potato salad. The chicken was so dry and I wish I could have taken some of the salt from the greens and applied it to the chicken. I ordered extra cornbread, which was burnt, but once I picked it off, it was ok. 🤦🏽‍♀️

First time trying this place, I ordered catering for my Halloween party (about 8 people). Everyone loved it! Ordered fried catfish, fried chicken, cabbage and the macaroni and cheese. Guests kept saying , “did you make this?! It’s really good!” Asking, “Where did you get the food from again? It’s really good!” My favorite was the catfish, Mac and cheese and the cabbage. Leftovers were Amazing! Although the dark meat chicken was a little dry after 30 sec microwave, Highly recommended!

I was looking for some good soul food and the reviews seemed good but I am disappointed. The customer service was goood (greeted as soon as I walked in)! The restaurant smelled good and was clean. Now on to the food! It was very small portions, the chicken was over cooked and burned, the food presentation was terrible, the fish sandwich was two small pieces of fish and a few fries! The food was barely seasoned!
