Modern Hotel - Hotel in Boise - 1314 W Grove St, USA

My husband and I really liked the Modern. It's decorated in a hip, mid-Century style while also clean and comfortable. The front desk and bar staff were really friendly. Our King room had a comfortable bed with great pillows. I loved the long counter to put our things on. There was also a chair and luggage stand. I liked that the front desk gives you a small black bag with toiletries which well thought out and handy (make up remover, lotion, ear plugs). The bathroom was big with a huge shower stall with a great shower head. Coffee in the room but breakfast was included and that was good as well. I liked that 3 fires were lit on the patio outside the bar the night before so you could sit inside or out and making for a pleasing ambiance. This is a great choice (excellent location as well) when staying in downtown Boise.

Modern prices but lacking in modern flavor. This place had really good food when they had the old chef. My wife and I have been here to eat a few times and after the dinner this weekend, it will be the last. $30 meatloaf plate?? Prices are ridiculous, portions are small and just not hitting the mark with flavor. I had the meatloaf plate and had I paid $12 bucks I still would have been disappointed. They do have decent drinks… I will give them that (hence the 3 stars). This seems to be an unfortunate streak with Treasure Valley restaurants…high prices and sub par food. Welcome to Idaho.

Welcoming, clean. Always feel it is my home away from home. Great location within the city---close to theaters, restaurants, and shopping. The restaurant at The Modern never ceases to please with good food and great service, interesting cocktails and wines.

I keep coming back here as they go above and beyond, they are friendly, and importantly they take good care of me and my dogs when I come through town. Love the restaurant as well, great food and easy to get a drink, dinner or breakfast while remaining close to the comfort of my room. Also, just a cool place with an easy location to all I need to get to. A highlight of coming to Boise.

Love this renovated Travel Lodge conveniently located in town and near the historic North End. Staff are so helpful and friendly! Pets allowed! The Bar and restaurant are superb with atmosphere and delicious drinks and food served. Fire pits outside in the courtyard are a great place to eat also with the beautiful Boise weather!

This is our favorite place to stay in boise clean and stylish rooms. Great location to walk to many of the great bars and restaurants in downtown. Breakfast is MUCH better than you'd find really anywhere else. A comfortable seating area to relax with your breakfast as well. Fun seating to relax and have a cocktail at the end of the day as well. We will always stay here when we visit!

It was a great location. As advertised. The staff were really helpful. We needed a late checkout and they were really accommodating. I appreciated that they called personally the day of and gave me a heads up about some issues with surrounding construction.

We have been traveling for one year staying in many hotels and other types of places. The Modern Hotel rates very very highly compared to our other stays. The room was beautiful, loved the floors (I am not a fan of carpeting), the bathroom and the shower are huge, the decor was very cool, and everything was super clean. The chair and the bed were comfortable. I loved having a ground floor room with an exterior door as we were traveling with our dog. The front desk people and the restaurant staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. The food in the restaurant is superb.
