Happen to be in that area for a photo shoot and then ended up with grandkids wanting to eat icecream. This place was close by. They have inside sitting area but a lot more outside. Free street parking could be tough but there are enough rental parking paces around. Staff was very friendly and helpful. May be it was my personal taste but I thought cookie dough taste was flat among others like vanilla. Will visit them again to make sure my taste reflects what they exactly serve.
Without a doubt, this is soft serve that is served with verve. The amount and variety of toppings you can add are numerous. You can even get free edible glitter! Now who doesn't want that. I got bananas, coconut, and carmel! They have several flavors of soft serve, including twists. Beware...it melts fast. It is on Quincy not Broadway, in NE Mpls. Free street parking.
One word to describe MN Nice Cream: Overrated. We paid about $17 for two cones (Cookie Monster and the one with Gummy Bears and Fruity Pebbles). The concept is great and so were the toppings; however, the ice cream was really low quality ice cream. The vanilla was watery and comparable-to-worst-than McDonald's vanilla, and the ice cream tasted like chocolate syrup with similar low, watered down ice cream quality. My wife (a lover of ice cream who has tried many of the places in the Twin Cities) was left disappointed at best. We, personally, will not be back! Two stars instead of one because the atmosphere and idea are good.
Their "ice cream" is icy and not very creamy. The waffle cone was fine, but nothing to write home about. I think they make their business off people who enjoy/care more about toppings than the quality of the actual ice cream. The inside is very cute and all their decor/marketing is cute, but the actual ice cream is worse than McDonald's.
Affordable, lots of topping options and fun pre-made cones, quick service. The toppings are also placed within the soft serve which rarely any place does. Place can get extremely busy (lines out the door). Minimum base flavors, especially non-dairy options. Clean inside and plenty of room outside by the brewery.
The soft serve ice cream itself is solid...why this places deserves 5 stars is the atmosphere, staff, and wow factor on the toppings. I ordered the large Cookie Monster in a waffle cone. It was absolutely delicious with legit cookie dough! I thought I had died and gone to cookie heaven. This place is a must try. Parking can be a bit difficult, so pay attention as to where there is free and pay parking. Otherwise...this place is a definite must try.
Soft serve cookie butter tasted ok, kind of bland, and was watery. Only a handful of ice cream choices. More topping choices than ice cream options. Guess you need that many toppings to make the watery ice cream taste better. Chocolate chip cookie dough topping was salty and gross. Only the large cup had a to-go top at $7...rip off. What I loved MOST was the CUTE sticker I got for $1.27 and the atmosphere is ADORABLE. Sebastian Joe's is MUCH BETTER!!! 1st and last time at MN Nice Cream for me. :/
Stumbled on to this cute and fun place. Not only the workers but everyone in this store was smiling but how can you not getting ice cream on a beautiful Minnesota summer day? For soft serve, shocking variety of different elaborate ice cream sunday creations and cones. I don't think I've ever been to an ice cream place that had such fun combinations. Each ice cream creation is a work of art! Delightfully colored inside, and just fun to be there and order. It was even more fun watching the kids delight as they pick up their ice cream creations! It's set to adjacent to an open plaza area that is shared with the next door brewery, so it was fun eating our ice cream on a park bench listening to music and enjoying the beautiful weather. Even a food truck, barbecue. Variety of people from families, to couples, to old folks.
