We had an excellent experience. We were met as soon as we entered by two volunteers who explained the center to us and all there was to see. It turns out that one of the volunteer's is a historian, Stewart Bennett, who has written a book on the Brice's Cross Road National Battlefield. After we toured the museum he offered to take us on a tour of the battlefield. We spent over 1.5 hrs visiting the battlefield and understanding all the events that were occurring. It was one of the best experiences we've had. The museum is worth a stop to see all the artifacts and displays they have. The folks there were really engaging and helpful.
It took me a minute to realize this is the Visitors' Center for the Brice's Crossroads battle site. The guide was very helpful and courteous. I got a book and a postcard, along with a map of the battlefield. It costs nothing to stop by but I saw a sign about paid tours of the Interpretive Center that support the center.
Very cool place! Admission is 7$ has a lot of historical items to see and they play a 20 minute movie for you to watch
The whole experience was great! The gentleman greeting us was funny and knowledgeable of the entire battle. The interactive venue was so informative.
Free museum with a paid 22 min video. I felt the video did not do a great job of visualizing the troop movements or orienting you on the map. If you are familiar with the area, you will be okay. Picked up a flyer to do the auto tour while there as well. The auto tour was well marked and a nice drive.
Was happy to be able to come and partake in a living history. Staff very friendly. Look forward to more events in this area.
Nice little museum. Can watch a short film and pick up some pamphlets before heading over to the site.
Awesome history. The lady there had alot of information on the civil war history. Super nice. Great stop for a good history lesson. Right off the interstate. Easy on and off. Good gift shop with plenty of books on the battle. The battlefield is minutes away. If you like civil war history, this is a must see.
