Mission Inn is an excellent place for vacation , or business. There has recently been a change in ownership, new owners have introduced some nice improvements, rooms, restaurants etc. The reservation team, headed by Ms Ann Marie Peter is still exceptional, professional and 100% customer service oriented, and always make my trip a wonderful experience.|A new addition in the La Margarita Restaurant is the chef Carl, his goal is to totally please with everything he prepares, and this he has done-2 days in a row now. The waitress Jasmine is perfect for her job, courteous, polite, & professional. The La hacienda restaurant always goes up and behond to make breakfast a great way to start the day. The servers are excellent.|Always great things to say after and during a trip.|Richard
The facility is old-which on some levels is very neat. On other levels… less so. Our room struggled to get cool. Steve was super helpful transporting us around and bringing towels. It was harder to figure things out with other staff, like how to order food poolside. The breakfast buffet was great! The pool was too warm to be refreshing, even in early May. The swings, playground, and outdoor games made for fun kid additions.
My dad and I played both courses and stayed one night at the resort. Both courses were in great shape and definitely my favorite out of any in FL. I highly recommend El Campeón because of the layout and the elevation changes.
The resort was a different story. It was clean and service was great, but the rooms are outdated. The food was 9/10 at Margaritas. Overall it was a great weekend with my Dad on Father’s Day weekend.
Beautiful location, nice resort with a lot of options. Only complaints were that some of the furniture and finishings are looking a little worn at this point and it was also very hard to get into dinner without reservations. That being said, the rooms we had really nice and the staff was amazing, working very hard to make us happy. I think if you’re looking for a golfing vacation or just to explore the area this is a great choice.
This place has potential. I had a view overlooking the golf course and water. It was beautiful. The rooms are okay, housekeeping can do a better job with cleaning..our room was not really clean. The bathroom toilet seats old and peeling. Had to line the seats up with toilet tissue to use. Overall I’d give cleanliness 2.5/5. Had an old wet carpet smell.
Purchased a Buffet Ticket for 2 for Sunday brunch. Paid via online, then the web page says call to confirm. We did. Left a voice mail. Long story, called Sun am and they had seating at 1400! Some Brunch, the guy I was talking to thought I booked in CA??? Recommend that you are careful in booking the Sun Brunch! Very bad custom relations, actually non existed!
We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, after they generously donated a weekend stay for Franklin’s Friends. As long-time supporters of this incredible organization, we are deeply appreciative of the resort’s support.
The Mission Inn is truly a hidden gem. From the moment we checked in until the moment we left, we were greeted by some of the nicest folks we’ve ever encountered. It felt like stepping back in time 50 years, with everyone saying please and thank you, smiling, and offering warm greetings.
Although the physical plant is 60 years old, it is impeccably maintained—one of the cleanest hotels we’ve ever stayed in. The level of cleanliness at this resort is remarkable, and it’s clear that the staff takes great pride in maintaining the property. The resort beautifully blends its rich history with modern amenities, creating a unique and comfortable experience.
The property itself is stunning, with easy access to golf, Pickleball, and tennis. We spent much of our time playing Pickleball and enjoying the gorgeous golf course. Despite the luxurious experience, the prices are very reasonable, making it accessible for a wide range of visitors. (I truly cannot understand another reviewer’s comment about money. Yes, you should expect to spend some cash but compared to other “resorts” with analogous amenities, this place is an absolute bargain).
With several dining options on the property, we never felt the need to leave. We enjoyed all of our meals at the resort, and the quality of the food was outstanding. The dinner restaurant, in particular, offered a great wine selection that perfectly complemented the meals. The service at this resort is as good as it gets—simply outstanding.
After a weekend here, we left feeling completely refreshed and free of the pressures of daily life. The Mission Inn is an absolute treasure in Central Florida, and we cannot recommend it highly enough.
My experience was very pleasant. A last-minute trip to enjoy mount Dora and Tavares 4th of July events. Honestly I was so tired from work that I just wanted to stay in this peaceful place. The only thing I did not like was the high fee for pets, $107.00 seemed way to much.
Mission Inn resort in Howey-in-the-hills Fl was fantastic. The staff was wonderful, the environment is spectacular. I recommend this resort to anyone wanting a nice get away.
For a little town it is a nice lake front park with a nice long sidewalk to walk along. There is also a playground for the kids, a pier out in the water to fish off of or just to enjoy the view, and some parking.
Also available is some outdoor exerc
Cool, old-school market in the middle of Howey-in-the-Hills. Basic items plus a good number of off and specialty items. At the back of the store is Rooster's kitchen. Only open for lunch during the week. Fresh and pre -made selections. The Chipotle C
I try to eat here every Saturday night as they have a Prime Rib, Alaskan Crab and Sushi-Sashimi Buffet.
Everything is prepared with caring and tastes delicious. I have never seen such a wide variety of Sushi. Both with fish and vegetarian, wonderful
