I can't believe I've lived in Oceanside for seven years now and have never known that we had a market that served such delicious homemade and authentic Filipino foods until now. Seriously.
We recently had some pancit from a Pinoy-owned food truck at Belching Beaver's Oceanside tap room and I forgot how good it was, and I've been wanting some more ever since. We just got some lumpia from Costco and I needed to find some pancit to serve with it and here I found Mission Asian Market.
They had a variety of various foods, hot and ready and we got a few to try:
● Pancit
● Sisig
● Chicken Adobo
● Lechon (with sauce)
I ordered a full to-go container of the pancit (so, not the half-rice, half-pancit. I did all pancit as the sides and main) and they gave me a ton of food. This will feed a family of four easily, with leftovers. Note this pancit is loaded with veggies and meat. It's a full meal by itself.
Everything tasted so good. The sisig was full of flavor and a tiny bit spicy, but we loved it. The chicken adobo with onions was so good, but the lechon blew us away. We actually waited while they prepared some fresh lechon for us and by itself, it's great - kinda like fried pork belly. But with the sauce it's just over the top!
Altogether, the total was $48.17 - which is not outrageous for the amount of food we got. And they gave us more lechon than could fit into the container cup, so instead of a lid they used aluminum foil (thank you!).
I really wanted to try the Kare-Kare, but apparently they only make that on the weekends. I also saw some pics of garlic rice, but they didn't have any of that either. From what I understand, they open very early and often sell out of food. They also close early at 5pm (I believe) so you gotta get there early if you want to try any of this tasty food.
Some of their dishes were good, some aren't. A bit expensive, small portions. I gave them four stars for fast service and for the good taste on the food that we bought.
delicious home style cooking! the lady we ordered from(maybe the owner) was so nice - she had a table set up for us outside - plus she knew were weren’t from around the area. Will definitely stop by again next time we’re in the area.
This is my second time here. The first time I came by myself but this time I came with a friend who really knows the menu.
The food here is fantastic. And there's so many wonderful things on the shelves! But we came especially for the Halo-halo.
The employees and the customers have a real rapport. A lot of joking and laughing going on here. A lot of joy.
Great market. Great food cooked daily. You must get there before the military lunch crowd for best selection!
I am giving this place 5 stars for being one of the few Filipino restaurants & Asian markets in North County San Diego. The food is prepared hot and fresh every day. Items sell out fast so get there early if you can. Lumpia could be better and seating is very limited. Lots of esssential Filipino supplies on the grocery side of the store. Service has always been very friendly each time I have visited.
I came here because I needed sitaw and dark soy to make adobo. If you need Filipino food supplies they have your basic dry goods (sauces, sauce packets, canned goods for halo halo, tin fish), some items in the freezer (ice cream, longanisa, tocino), some veggies like long beans and baby bok choy. The fresh vegetable selection could be better since there aren’t any good Asian markets in North County and I hate having to go to Convoy regularly. There are some other Asian items like Maeploy Thai curry paste, Vietnamese dry noodles and fresh spring roll wrappers.
There’s a turo turo cafe where you can get always made food to eat in or take away. I got a little snack of pancit to tie me over while I make adobo ;)
The staff are all very kind and friendly. I love to support small businesses so I will have to come back and try more.
OK selection. Mostly products from and for the Philippines.
A bit expensive compared to 88 or 99 Ranch stores, but more specific.

Fantastic beer tasting room. They have 20 plus beers on tap and dozens more in bottle. A real locals hang where the crowd is relaxed and conversation is lively. Located right off the 76 across from the Oceanside airport. Parking is a bit limited.
