This is a good but not great spot. The taste of the food here is fantastic, this is BBQ done right, that's not debatable. However, the prices are definitely on the high side given the portions are small. Either the prices need to go down or the portions need to go up (especially on the sides). Secondly, this has the charm of a family spot... but the staff are unorganized. I was handed my bag of take out and I asked if they wanted me to pay for it, and that person just wandered away. I could see waiters standing around in the kitchen but the food was not arriving quickly to seated customers. Something is amiss. I would be a frequent take out patron if the prices come back to earth. I wanted to love it, but for now, I just liked it.

Just picked up my order of extra well done wings with extra wing rub!! They are fantastic a must try, best wings in the area!! Can’t wait to get them again. Super awesome staff. Thank you.

There's just no smokiness to any of the food. The meat is tasty for the most part but genuinely no smoke flavor as if it were just baked or grilled over gas. Visited many times and tried most of the menu and unfortunately no difference.

Sorry to do this, but it is my responsibility to be 100% honest and transparent, and to make everyone aware, the food is decent, especially the meats... However, the portions are exceptionally small, and the prices are excessively high, as in, absurd! The staff are predominantly kids, who seem like they are very confused. This is a family-owned & run operation, and the owner seems like a nice enough fella. But fact is, a skimpy brisket sandwich on a Martin's potato roll, should NOT be $17.99 (plus tax and tip), and 6 tiny hush puppies on the menu for $9.99? That is borderline insanity! I ordered my brisket sandwich with a side order of hush puppies (instead of fries), and they only gave me 2 hush puppies. So, I asked the waiter, "please, I'm feeling a little bit jipped here, bring me out 2-3 more hush puppies"... 15-20 minutes later, they brought me out an entirely new order of a brisket sandwich with hush puppies. Far too much confusion for what it's worth... and their whiskeys are way overpriced, jacked up, and out of line (coming from someone who has spent the greater part of the past 25+ years, working in the fine wine and spirit business). Nevertheless, we won't be returning. The wealthy snobs of Bernardsville can afford $20 sandwiches and $50 glasses of bourbon. The food is good, but it ain't THAT good! And the service is awful. It takes a heck of a lot of nerve and audacity to charge $15.99 for 6-7 buffalo wings! If you want to charge $1.50 for a small slice of cornbread, at the very least, heat it up, and don't bring out "cold" cornbread to your guests! Famous Dave's on Route 22 in Mountainside, brings you out hot cornbread, at no charge. Embarrassing, and not the least bit recommended.

Very basic and casual eatery. We ordered burgers that took forever to be served and the medium-well burger was dripping red juice. The meat tasted off, neither one of us finished. We would have been better off going to McDonalds and would have saved a lot of money.

Friendly atmosphere with excellent food. The corn bread was sweet and moist and wonderful. The brisket: tender, lean and flavorful. The meat loaf gravy contained large fresh mushroom chunks. We were disappointed by the service speed: we waited a long time for our food to arrive and to receive the bill. The desserts looked good, but we didn't get a chance to try them.

They had a live band on Thursday. The brisket and dry rub wings were out of this world delicious!! Everything was delicious!! I would definitely return!!

Tender, juicy, flavorful with a kick bisket. 😋. Staff is all friendly as heck! Love it here.
