So good spots to fish and picnic at. The path we chose wasn't right along the river. And it was ok it was maintained for part of it and then got really overgrown. We tried to find our way down to the main path along the river and found an abandoned campground. That was neat and also sad to see. I imagine the camp got flooded a lot and they shut it down. Which is a bummer. Once on the main trail it was much easier walking because that was actually maintained.
Great little trail through some prairie and some woods with some architecture sprinkled here and there. Well kept and easy to navigate.
The minnesota river is a great place to spend just the day, or a whole weekend relaxing and catching fish. Each bend presents new views and great tranquility. So get down there and have some fun!
Not very well kept and you can't escape the traffic noise. Needs campgrounds and amenities. Basically numerous little sections broken apart as a recreation area. Does have som decent trails.
Pretty easy trail. We actually took the horse trail for a while to get closer to the river. Then cut through the woods, over a set rock crossing over a stream and to the walking trail. You get some prairie, woods, and river walking. We say lots of swans on the river as we walked back.
Nice place to take a hike got the stamp too for my passport.
There's a path and it goes through the woods... Ok fine... the paths are very long and made for horses or other trail riding or long hikes. It looks like it's been mowed recently but there's multiple small trees that have recently fallen so be careful.
So...if I had had an ATV (which is legal and they have an AMAZING PATH FOR THIS!!!) this..would made this place...a 5 star home run.
For hiking or camping or horseback riding...? Ah...no.

Deer ticks. Pulled 3 off my pup and 2 off myself. Going to see the vet on Tuesday (that was unfortunately the soonest I could get my pup in.) Who knew those little buggers we're already out despite snowfall still?!
