I am at the West Allis Campus, every other Friday, and take a blended online class. (IT-Networking) I have two remaining classes solely online, as well. I enjoy attending the West Allis campus because I am close to work. I like that after class I can utilize the computer lab or library to work on class assignments. It is a much quieter environment than the downtown college, which is a huge plus for me. Dr. Martinez is a wonderful professor and makes networking much easier to understand when I attend the in class sessions, allowing me to feel more confident in working in the IT field. If you are interested in IT you should consider reaching out to one of the Pathway Advisors to help you choose which program you would like to pursue (Networking Technican, Software Development, Coding-etc) and which campus would work best for you.

I'm at the West Allis Campus studying for ITUSP, usually every other Monday and Thursday. I choose this for more then just to land a job in the field but also to improve on my understanding on computers and to better improve my communication to others. I personally cannot compare since this is the only college I have gone to for this, however I will say the staff here are phenomenal at what they do and help to the best of their abilities. I choose MATC for IT support because it was the closest campus to me and my bf recommended it to me when he was going to MATC for a completely different degree. I feel this is a good degree for those who enjoy problem solving, love for computers and technology and well those who would like to know more about their own devices so they can troubleshoot on their own and save themselves some money in the long run. I do feel it would be good to navigate back to being in the classroom more for technical stuff however since it can be challenging to do from home at times if you need help. Or at least offer both options, but that is more a personal opinion. The campus is otherwise amazing and I would recommend it if you have an interest in IT or any other degree.

I've always been into fixing and building computers. MATC offers a great program for IT support. I chose MATC because of its proximity to my house, and the great reputation it has for job placement for graduates. This program has been leading me to success in the field by giving me all the resources I need to succeed. I love the use of blackboard for online classes and for submitting work. The tutoring program is expansive and I recommend using it if you need to catch up or need a little help. Overall a great experience so far. The teachers are enthusiastic and helpful. They want to see you succeed and learn.

Their hours online do not reflect their true hours. Staff goes home at 4pm or earlier when their department is supposed to be open until 6pm. You get shifted around from person to person and many times are giving conflicting information. It is currently December and I haven't been able to get ahold of my advisor since October, and have been passed back and forth between so many other people who still haven't fixed a mistake that was made. It honestly doesn't feel worth trying to save the tiny difference in tuition cost. If you have the option to go somewhere else, go somewhere that actually cares about their students.

MATC has changed my Life!!, i am currently enrolled in their IT Computer Support Program and so far it has been amazing, the teachers are very involved and make the classes very interesting with very useful hands on experience with the tools and skills that will be used in your field. I have yet to graduate and with a combination of education to date and volunteer experience i have already found a job in my field of study earning a good competitive entry level wage.

The ladies in the financial aid office are the nicest, most helpful professionals I have ever had to deal with. Thank you for your knowledge and support.

I haven’t even started a class yet but I can tell you that the financial aid team is quit rude and unhelpful. I turned in a application months ago and didn’t find out that my application wasn’t turned in because I needed to verify information until I called about the status of it a month later. It is now a week until class payment deadline and still nothing. I called and the lady was very snooty and said I’ll find out when they contact me and refused to give anymore insight. Wow. UPDATE: I was notified that I was de-registered from my classes because of no payment. Even though when I was previously on the phone with the financial aid office the lady assured me that I would not be dropped from my classes even though it would go past the payment deadline. So I had to re-register for classes(that were luckily not all filled yet), wait on the phone for 25 minutes and talk to another person in the office about my situation. It really just seems like this department takes peoples education as a joke or something. The fact that I’ve sat on the phone over five times now and received different information every time, obviously you guys need to come together and go over how to communicate with the students. Especially for first year students, I have no idea how financial aid works. I had the belief that it would have processed through way before the class payment deadline. At this point I have no idea what to do next and not one person at this school has given me guidance that’s not rushed over the phone.
