Great experience. No lines, did not wait long for our specialty ice cream. Plenty of wonderful choices to choose from for the indecisive few. Right in the heart of the famous blue back square and easily accessible by foot from sooo many lovely restaurants for a great afternoon-dinner treat. Enjoy!
Save your money and go to Ben & Jerry’s or Arethusa next door! We used to love going here, it was a special treat… the ice cream *used* to be fresh, dense, smooth and made to order in front of you. Not any more: tonight, on a busy prime-time Friday we went. They no longer do the liquid nitrogen and mix the ice cream fresh for you. It’s premade now, and it was all freezer burned and granulated. Literally terrible! I can see why they have two staffers now (instead of the old four-five on a busy shift) and it showed- it was cheaper and quicker for them, but bad quality for me. It’s not worth their premium price anymore. We actually threw out the cookie butter after a few bites- wasn’t even worth the calories. Go somewhere else that’s reliable and not granulated, crystalized, and crunchy.
Fantastic ice cream. The flavors are limited, but the quality is great and they are creative. The bubble cone is basically like eating a Belgium waffle or pancake; it's rather doughy and kind of heavy. The actual waffle cone is crisp and light. Just be prepared for rather expensive bill. Two cones will run ~$20. Also, be prepared for your paper cone holder to leak after 5 minutes.
Best ice cream I’ve ever had. This place is awesome
3rd time in a row where the shop doesn’t have liquid nitrogen to make ice cream. Ordinary ice cream without the nitrogen experience.
Just a typical ice cream shop with typical West Hartford prices. The portions are very generous though, so you're getting your money's worth. Main complaint is the space itself - it's definitely difficult for them to accommodate the customers they have. It's a squeeze to get to the register, then you have to awkwardly squeeze past everyone else to get back out. Not a lot of indoor seating - a couch and maybe 3 tables.
I enjoyed my experience here as service was quick because there weren’t many people here. The ice cream was so smooth and creamy! It has to be one of the better ice creams I have tasted. We tried the chocolate churro and the cookie dough and both tasted so yummy. I would definitely recommend this place to ice cream lovers.
Most delicious ice cream I have every tasted. So creamy and smooth. I got the blue cookie butter in the signature bubble cone and husband got the very very chocolate cream. They make the ice cream in house with a giant nitrogen tank, so modern. The waffle cone was so hot and fresh but didn't melt the ice cream too fast.
