It was really awesome that they do talks on all the animals often and I all the cages it tells you what time the next talk is the animals look well taken care of and nice and chunky LOL but playful. Have a nice little museum in there too which was really cool I didn't expect it but I was happily excited to get to explore! Good fun for all ages including adults and senior citizens. There are a few gift shops the have souvenirs shirts stuffed animals. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous!!
This place was adorable, the animals were all out except for the cougars, We even got to see a bear fresh out of hibernation. The otter was swimming about and the eagle was flying around. It was chilly, even on a 70 degree day, so bring a hoodie in case! There are hand railings to use for the walking paths as well. The price is $15 dollars per person to enter GrandFather Mountain state park, if you plan to make an entire day out of it, I would say the price is worth it, but if you just plan for the animal habitat and museum, not really worth the price, as the bridge is being reconstructed.
We loved visiting the zoo. Hearing the experts talk about each animal is very educational. We couldn't believe Fannie Mae, the bear, responded to her name being called. How crazy was it that she came to be given treats? The walk will give you a little bit of a workout, but it was so worth it. If you visit Grandfather Mountain, we highly recommend stopping to see the zoo and hear all information about it.
Awesome trip through the whole park. Both hiking and car access is available, stunning views, and a zoo with bear/elk/otter feedings where you can get right up close and personal with the animals! Some cute gift shops as well. The most amazing part is being on a swinging bridge that is a mile in the air...extreme! Would definitely go here again, could have easily spent 10 hours here if we had brought a picnic or wanted to do lunch at the museum and some hiking.
Nice addition to the Grandfather Mountain experience. Only a few animals and bald eagles, but laid out nicely and you're very close. Entry fee to GM and swinging bridge includes small zoo.
A must-do if you visit Grandfather Mountain. The bears were out and put on a nice little display for all of us. The naturalist that gave background info on the bears was extremely informative and very friendly.
Absolutely beautiful animal habitat. Well preserved and taken care of. Very clean and the animals all look very healthy & taken care of. It's peaceful land and beautiful to see the animals. Thank you for your hard work and preserving their habitat.
Beautiful place! Was great seeing animals in their local habitat! Kids loved this place so much.

Their waitlis is a pad of paper with hand written names & cash is preferred, just an FYI. Service was excellent and so was the salad bar. My baked potato was perfection. Split a burger with a friend as well & even as left overs, it was delicious. Wou
