Mike's BBQ / Smokehouse Pizza - Barbecue restaurant in Escondido - 1356 W Valley Pkwy, USA

I drove by this BBQ place a couple of times and finally stopped and I am glad I did! Prices are fair considering how much food cost in general not to mention the time and labor it takes to make good BBQ. I grabbed the brisket plate with Mac and Cheese and pinto beans. Brisket was really good however I should of asked for the BBQ sauce on the side because my brisket was swimming in BBQ sauce. However it was really really good and the Mac and cheese was amazing. Will detail come back.

For good bbq stop by Mikes is Escondido. The pork ribs fell right off the bone. Sauce is tangy and sweet and pairs perfectly with the ribs. Coleslaw was cold and crispy just like I like it. The fries were hot, but the Texas toast was a bit dry but I ate it anyways while dipping it in the bbq sauce. Service was a bit slow but when the food came out, it made up for it. Stop by and enjoy a beer, a meal and one of the many sporting events on their large screens.

The chili was amazing. The employees were the most friendliest staff I met in a while in a restaurant. The layout of the restaurant is amazing with so many sports memorabilia. It is a great place to hang out especially with barbecue and sports.

The chicken, Cobb salad, brisket, and collard greens were pretty good. Cornbread was good, but too sweet for my taste. Tri-tip could have been better. Our food took an hour to come out of the kitchen after ordering online, but the restaurant didn't seem particularly busy.

Tried this place last week, disappointed they were out of brisket so early in the day☹️. But the ribs and chicken were both really good and the serving of all the sides were plenty😋. Clean place loved all the big screen tv’s👍🏼

I really wanted to like this place. It’s close to the house and who doesn’t love BBQ??? This is a bar that serves food in my opinion so the name is deceiving. It is way to dark and dreary inside. The staff needs training in customer service. The baked potato was barely warm, even the bread was tough. The ribs were dry and the chicken was why to charred on the outside. To be fair, the beans and coleslaw were good. I don’t like to give this kind of review but it is what it is. Seems like they cook all the food at 10am and serve it until closing. Nothing seemed fresh and hot like a BBQ should be! (And I’ve been to many all across the country)

Great selection of local craft beer and delicious bbq food. I had 1 beef rib, baked potato, & Texas toast that was delicious and satisfying portions. Friendly service and huge screens to watch sports.

Great BBQ we didn't expect to find. Brisket was "out" when I ordered but without me asking the server said that can't be right and went to check. She said it would be ready in 15 minutes. And it was. And it was delicious and moist! The small sides are huge and my wife loved her loaded nacho fries and street corn. Mac n cheese was a bit over cooked and a little bland but guess what, I are it! Definitely a pin in this place to come back on our next trip.
