Midtown Inn and Suites - Motel in Claxton - 6 N Duval St, USA

I booked this room for a week 5 days in advance upon arrival the clerk said my reservation wasn't booked even after I Cleary spoke to him on the phone I was told 413.23 for 7 days when I arrived to check in he tried charging me 358 dollars for 5 nights because he had messed my reservation up when he was finally able to fix everything about an hour after our arrival I wasn't even provided a receipt Later on in the week I needed to extend my stay by two nights so I went and paid cash 211.13 for those nights I wasn't provided with a receipt either for these days On the Saturday night of my last two nights there the front desk proceded to call and say I hadn't paid for my nights and I needed to pay to stay I was able to get them to find the night where I extened it but the customer service here is absolutely horrible And the whole week I was here the housekeepers have only come twice during the day too change out linens and bring towels DO NOT STAY HERE!

When we arrived at the hotel, we were checked in by a gentleman who was not rude, but offered no conversation other than asking our name and telling us to sign the receipt. First impression was that the hotel looked dated, which is not bad, but basically the hotel was not kept. The elevator smelled of smoke, carpets were worn and walls were marked up. The rooms we stayed in had dirty carpets and I was hesitant to set any of my items on any of the surfaces. This was not from not being cleaned after the last person, but rather not cleaned in months. The sheets were clean, but that was about it. Towels were thread bare and we had to request additional towels from the front desk as we had two of us in the room. No clock in the room. Continental breakfast was a minimal as it can be. The one positive thing I can say about the hotel was we only had to stay for one night.

This hotel is old, dated and sparse. However, it was also very neat, clean and provided an in room microwave/refrigerator which is always nice. Hallway carpets were stained, but no odor. The pool and the ice machine were not in service. Breakfast was basic Continental; cereal, apples, coffee, etc. Room towels/wash cloths were worn, but clean, and had a couple of small soaps. Overall, I would have liked some amenities/improvements like a room guide/info pack, a working pool and slightly improved breakfast choices.

Just recently stayed here again. All I can speak of is "my room". There were 2 towels, three washcloths, a couple of hand towels available. Worn, but still available. There were 4 bars of soap and 2 shampoos for use. Breakfast foods available were instant grits and oatmeal, donettes, toast and small apples. Coffee, juice and milk were available. Don't think the pool has been cleaned. The recliner in the room would still not recline. But they have listened and made some improvements. I would love some fabric softener for the linens, please.

Have you ever been given a room with no toiletries? No soap, no shampoo, no creams. This place operates as cheaply as possible. I'm not sure they know what fabric softener is. The staff are their biggest asset. Beds consist of a box springs with 2 - 4-6" foam mattress on top. Pillows? yep there were some. Floors are stained. It needs lots of TLC.

Rooms clean, service ok, breakfast - don't waste your time. The beds were way too soft to sleep on. Pillows - there might as well have been none. We had 4 pillows on a king sized bed and they were all so flat you didn't know you were sleeping on one. We went and purchased our own for our second night there. Towels and wash cloths extremely small & thin. Otherwise, for $53 per night, it can't be beat. There are alot of hotels in the Statesboro area that aren't listed on most websites that would have been much better for about the same price.

e Recently stayed here at a cost of $60.95.. The carpet was nasty, or room had no soap, inflict blankets & looked as if someone slept in one of the beds. There was McDonald's food left in the microwave & little baggies behind the dresser. When I approached a worker at the front desk he said he would address the cleaning crew but didn't offer any kind of discount or compensation.. There were grown teenagers piled up in the lobby at 12:30 PM with only 1 girl at the front desk. There were strange ppl walking in the parking lot & approaching the motel. I was very uncomfortable with the amount of activity at this motel. I'm very disappointed & will NEVER stay here again.

The rooms were nasty. Our son and family refused to stay because there was old vomit on the rug of their room. Our toilet had not been cleaned - there was fecal matter in the bowl. The price was good but we have had clean rooms in the same price range. No excuse!
