We stay at this property every year on our trip south. Usually, it's great - not fussy, but clean, decent rooms. This year wasn't that great. Rooms really needed attention, in various states of disrepair. Previously, the beds were comfy, but this year, it was like they'd bought old mattresses from a hotel that went out of business- we had three rooms, and all six beds were awful. I had just fallen asleep at around 11pm, and the gentleman (who was kind) from the front desk banged on the door, saying the room below us had water dripping into their bathroom. My son was taking a bath, and there was no water on our floor - something was wrong with the tub drain. Lots of noisy people in the hall, smoking weed and cigarettes. The next morning when we were finishing up breakfast, another front desk person was pretty rude when he told us to hurry up and get done, because he was putting everything away. There were five or ten minutes left, and we were done anyway - just wasn't necessary. All in all, this place has always been our go-to (for more than 10 years), but I really don't think we'll be back.
Love them and love the service and workers and owners are amazing. Rooms are very clean and place is quietly and friendly. Victoria was the employee at front desk she very polite and takes the time to work with explain things in detail if necessary and she is definitely funny. Other employees were very nice and friendly as well.
I don’t know where the negative reviews are coming from; My 7 Day stay was peaceful, Room was very clean, No issues, Front Desk Gentlemen were Polite, Respectful, and Was always ready to help whenever I needed. The TV was my only down fall because I couldn’t connect my PS5, or Roku Device. They accommodated my Pup Sasha, didn’t over charge and was even playful with her. Breakfast was convenient. Overall I Recommend this Hotel to anyone who’s looking for a Convenient location around lots of stores. Can’t wait for my next business trip to Wilson, NC.
The hotel is NOT clean! We checked in after 11pm. I did not notice the dirty bathroom until after my kids were asleep. I took photos and showed the front desk first thing in the morning. I was told he would let the owner know and someone would get back to me about issuing a partial refund. He did thank me for letting him know so he could let the staff who cleans be aware of this. When I did not hear from anyone I called and was asked to email pictures so I did. I was informed the owner was out of town until Friday. By Monday I still had heard from no one. I emailed again on Monday and finally Wednesday I received an email back! I was informed there is nothing they are going to do. No partial refund. I would not recommend this hotel and quite honestly I don’t know if I would stay at any hotel that is a part of this chain. Not only was there dirt all over the toilet but when I went to shower in the morning one of the towels looked questionable. I then went and looked at the sheets to discover they looked questionable as well. Very disappointed!
In general the motel was quite nice, good location and. very polite staff. The main letdown were the common areas like the carpets on the corridors or staircases which didn’t smell very nice. The room however was ok and had everything you’d expect. Also the breakfast was quite nice and had fair variety including pancakes, bagels, muffins and more.
Positive: It's a good location. A quiet hotel decent room. Great accommodating staff. Negative: The key card is sensitive and I had it by my phone and had to get it rescanned.
We wanted to like this hotel but the owners refuse to resolve fairly simple, fairly inexpensive issues like replacing the carpet on the stairways and hallways and installing basic baseboard in the guestrooms; review after review mentioned these things so I assumed that any decent owner would have resolved these issues by now, but no they have not and some are safety issues. The carpet on the stairs has good sized holes in it as it is so worn -- so this situation has been going on long term. The room isn't terrible but all along the floor where the walls meet the floor looks unfinished / dirty because no baseboard was installed. Baseboard is a standard item and it's not expensive! ||||On a positive note, the staff was great and the price was OK but Microtel was no value given these issues and we will not be back. The "inn and suites" hotel nearby is just a little more and you get a LOT more for your dollar! ||||Shame on the owners of this MIcrotel for not addressing these basic items. Wyndham you should drop this location if it is not willing to resolve these matters.
