It’s so frustrating how people are so critical of everything. I almost didn’t get a room because of the reviews. And they’re not correct. The extremely nice Shannetta at the front desk was very pleasant to deal with. The motel has a sign on the entrance door. Wishing that the oil field guys would knock off their boots. Crazy thing is what is going on all around this town. It’s a booming oilfield town. Immense amounts of construction everywhere. It’s fascinating how people expect extreme cleanliness in these conditions. My room was nice didn’t smell. I’ll definitely stay again.

The poor experience starts at the doors with filthy glass and a sign demanding work boots be stomped off outside. Given the nature of the work done in the area, a kindly worded request with some boot scrubbing equipment might do but this came off as harsh. |Then, I came in to the desk to check in and there was a sign. Ring the bell or call this number for assistance. I rang the bell and waited patiently. After a couple of minutes I tried calling. And then I tried again. And again. Eventually a woman with two leashed dogs came in and said the dogs made it take a lot longer than it needed to. |The floors in the lobby were grimy, the tiles in the elevator chipped, but again, you write some of that off to normal daily wear and tear that cleaning staff might not have gotten to yet. |But the room. Ugck. There was no cushion on the window seat. The only chair in the room was filthy. Stained and wood chipped. So, I sat on the bed. And while I was there I noticed that there were streaks across the AC unit like a boot scuff in one area and then up higher there was a grey...what was that....fuzzy....UUUGGGG. The filters on this AC unit haven't ever been cleaned. I seriously took them out of the unit because my eyes were BURNING from all the allergens. |The floors looked like the vacuum they were using had never been serviced either and things were ripped and torn in the corners. |Overall, the place looks like the owner never checks in on the manager and the manager doesn't give two hoots. Will not stay there again. Do not recommend. Recommend finding anywhere else.

2 stars only because I didn’t find bedbugs like at the Super 8. I am unsure how this Microtel has 4 star reviews. Reading back at reviews the pool was out of service over a year ago. You guessed it. Still out of service. The treadmill doesn’t work so the only other option is the elliptical. I travel by trade for work, so I get the nature of the hotel. I work Oil too. The carpets were a disaster and obviously not cleaned before I arrived. The staff for the most part don’t exist. The front desk staff ALWAYS leaves the “sorry we aren’t available right now” sign out front because they wonder off. Smell of weed is a constant. Wouldn’t care so much if kids weren’t in the hotel. The place wouldn’t suck so bad if they fixed things and the staff cared a bit. Edit: Raised from 2 to 3 star. Seems over the past few months they’ve upped their game. I don’t know if it was complaints or what but they’ve done much better. Workout equipment is working and I’ve seen them steadily working on the pool, so at least something is being done there. Haven’t smelled as much weed lately so that’s nice. My room was a bit cleaner than the last stay but it’s still a working class hotel, so it’s to be expected. The employees have been kind and normally always at the front desk so there’s no waiting. Gotta say, they’ve done better.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a very disappointing experience. I booked through Expedia and checked in at 6:07 PM. The check-in process was smooth, but the problems began once we reached room 314. The door's deadbolt was malfunctioning, and although other security measures were present, my wife and I felt uncomfortable. We reported the issue to the front desk. The employee misunderstood initially, thinking the key cards were the problem, and made us new ones. When I clarified it was the deadbolt, he said he needed to check the lock before moving us to another room. However, he attended to other guests first, causing a significant delay. When I attempted to asked if we could be moved to another room before he checked the lock as he seemed very busy, he rudely interrupted me, pointed his finger, and repeatedly told me to wait. After finally checking the lock, he demanded I say "please" before providing new room keys, which was highly unprofessional. This experience was in stark contrast to the excellent service I received at the Microtel in Nanaimo. I hope management addresses this behavior. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend staying here until improvements are made.

to start off the lobby was trashed with food crumbs all on the floor got into elevator floor tiles was all cracked and had more crumbs and food stamped into the floor. we got to room and bathroom light didn’t work couldn’t see. so we went to switch rooms lady asked me if i could change the lightbulb. we ended up switching to a studio room therefore i had to sleep on the pullout. which was a piss yellow 2 inch thick mattress all stained up with ribs going into my back it was like sleeping on a pile of rocks with a sheet on it. almost every chair or piece of furniture in the room was either ripped or stained. the next morning we went down to eat breakfast and it was very weak had a few bagels and yogurt. nothing to really complain about in the bathroom which is why it’s a 2 star and not 1. the hotel seems like it could use a senior management visit.

The floors were disgusting in my room. They felt moist and my room smelled like it had been sprayed with 3 cans of febreeze. The night clerk looked like she just got out of rehab. The entire hotel had a prison vibe feeling. The only good thing about this place is, it's right next to Walmart

Advertised pool on priceline/expedia and we booked because of it. Turned out the pool had been closed or non-operative for 4-5 years according to staff. One room had no A/C (staff tried turning it on but no luck), ended up changing rooms at 12:00 at night with the help of a rude (and different from earlier) night manager. ||Breakfast was skimpy, with quite a few items out of stock. ||We may be getting a partial refund for the problems experienced...||Seems like hotel needs management.

This is the Worst Hotel in the World!! I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my worst enemy!! The host was pathetic, stood in the doorway smoking cigarettes and had to tell her to Move so we could get into the hotel!! Then waited 15 minutes for her to come check us in!! Cats walking in the hallway!! Stupid Dogs Barking All Night!! No one would answer the phone!! Then the breakfast was Crap!! And they cooked it in the Dirty Dishes from the sink!! Mold on the serving Platters!!! This Hotel Sucks!!!!
