I wish we would’ve read the reviews before reserving. We were in the room no longer than 10 minutes before we decided it was uninhabitable. The smell was awful. There were ants, mold, stains, crumbs on the bed, mounds of dust in corners, old moldy appliances, a small out of sight television. We were denied a refund of over $100! I didn’t pay a low price expecting luxury. I paid over $100 expecting at least clean. The entire hotel is in ill repair and should be shut down. They are using the Microtel name to take advantage of people. After 10 minutes from checking in, I could not get a refund. UPDATE to add: I appreciate the apology. However, I do not consider this adequate compensation. I will still be seeking a full refund. I did not stay at the hotel and reasonable service was not provided. The room was uninhabitable and I was only there for minutes. I will continue to leave reviews, contact health officials, post on social media, make calls and send emails until I am refunded the $106 I paid.
It is always quite a bit less expensive than the surrounding hotels. I mean there are comparably priced "hotels" but they are not places you want to stay. The staff is very friendly. The location is perfect. The elevator was broken so this stay they didn't require the usual $50 incidental hold.||||Make sure to spring for the larger room if you have the option. The walls seem incredibly thin meaning your neighbors will know exactly what you're doing but it's fine because you'll know exactly what they're doing, as well. Even the non smoking rooms smell like an old ashtray.

Where do I begin...the location is great and check-in was quick and easy but that is where anything redeeming about this property ends. The elevator was out and I had to walk down a long hallway on either side and then up several flights of stairs to get to my room. Once I got to my room that is when the red flags went up! In the bathroom: the floors were disgusting and seemed very dirty. The tub/shower were also quite disgusting and all of the towels and washcloths looked dirty and like they hadn't been bleached/washed/cleaned in quite some time. There were no handles on the bathroom sink and I felt like if I plugged the hairdryer into the outlet I might start a fire. There were stains all over the place and seemed like on everything (floor, walls, window sill/sitting area, the desk etc. The picture that was in the room was upside down and damaged. Once I pulled back the sheets I discovered blood on them and the kicker was their were still hand prints left on the mirror wall back drop behind the bed from previous occupants probably engaging in some "extracurricular" nocturnal activities. I should have reported any and all of this to the front desk but I was so tired, it was late and I had a very early morning flight out of RIC. I would dissuade anyone from considering or booking this hotel and I will no even consider staying here in the future after my experience. But I guess you get what you pay for in this budget hotel location.
Absolutely and without a doubt not worth even considering a stay here. The website photos look quite appealing; this in conjunction with the location close to the airport and the Wyndam name are nothing more than a trap. The interior space in general is in significant disrepair with holes in the ceiling, leaks, ratty carpeting, bad odors (musty/wet, marijuana, body odor), staining to all surfaces. The rooms are not fit for human use. Filthy! Bed coverings are stained/dirty, carpeting is torn up, curtains are moldy, bathroom was horrid with hair all over the floors, staining in the tub/toilet/sink. There was a heavy layer of mold on the seal around the mini-fridge door (I didn't have the stomach to open it), and there were ants all over the room. The 'manager' was not impressed with my decision to abandon the room, and did not offer any type of solution/refund. I am forced to try to dispute the charge that was put through. The insect concern was great enough to prompt me to spray down my luggage once I exited the property. Sadly, when I dug deeper into reviews, it appears I got off relatively easy; others have run into drug use, found drug paraphernalia and encountered semi-nude strangers in their rooms. Do yourself a favor; don't consider staying here. There are other quality hotels close to the airport that uphold the standards of their names.
Room was not clean. Sheets were dingy and had burn holes in them. Pillows were yellow and flat. Room had a damp feeling and musty odor. To top it all off, two men tried to enter my room at 12am Midnight demanding the dehumidifier that was placed in the room prior to my arrival. Overall this was a horrible place to stay and I would not recommend.
When entering our first room there was diarrhea and urine in the toilet. The room smelled horrible. They assigned a new room which was heavily moldy and smelled like mildew. We arrived late, too late to have the time and energy to change motels but will not return to another Wyndham property if this is the type of product they are peddling. The bathroom was not cleaned. Soap from a previous occupant was still in the holder along with various hairs and a stained bathtub. There was food left in the fridge. The mold is easily visible on chairs and furniture. They will not refund you if you have been in the room for 10 minutes. I wonder if Wyndham is aware of this policy they have at their franchise.
Stayed for 4 nights with family to attend a race at the Speedway. Hallways reeked of pot and ceilings were leaking. Room was not clean. Dirty bed sheets, disgusting bath tub and mold in bathroom as seen in attached pics. There were old Oreos in the light fixture above our bed as seen in attached photo. Rooms have no coffee makers and had to ask for hair dryer. Breakfast was terrible. There was a wafflemaker, cereal and bagels which ran out. Asked for one and gave up waiting. Would not stay here again.
