Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Middletown - Hotel in Middletown - 19 Crystal Run Crossing, USA

We recently stayed here while attending a wedding. I almost cancelled because of some of the reviews. Glad I didn’t. We arrived at 2:30 and our room was ready. They were actually happy to see us because they were hoping to avoid a 3:00 check in crunch. Check in was quick and easy. Personnel were friendly and professional. Our room was a nice size and very clean. It had a fridge and microwave and everything we needed. I could nitpick about a couple of things, like the bath towels being very small, but for the cost, I’m happy with everything. It shares a parking lot with two other hotels. Microtel’s price was almost half. Breakfast in the morning wasn’t great, but not much different than other hotels. I didn’t miss the usual horrible scrambled eggs and there was enough to get you going. Overall, a pleasant stay. I would recommend.

Booked this hotel based of the proximity to legoland but absolutely would never step foot in it again. The price does not match the run down dirty dysfunctional atmosphere of this hotel. I stayed a total of 2 days and every time I walked by the counter a new guest was complaining about an issue they had. From the odd smells to the apparent uncleanliness it was bad from start to finish. Zero stars do not recommend 👎🏽

In all my travels and hotel accommodations this is the first time I have to write a 'bad review'. The room smelled of cigarette smoke as soon as we entered. Front desk staff was notified and seemed surprised, offered us another room but without refrigerator and microwave which we needed. The bathtub was grimy (pics) and there was a moss-covered plug over the drainage area...yukkk!! The bathroom sink did not drain and front desk was immediately notified, we were assured someone would check it out. The next morning, after brushing our teeth in the tub, we again informed the front desk of the sink problem, letting them know we were leaving for an event until late that evening and could the sink be fixed before we returned. We returned late that evening and guess what??..THE SINK WAS NEVER FIXED AND THE GRIME IN IT WAS STUCK! I had to use tissue paper and wipe it in order to even go into the bathroom. THE FIRE ALARM went off on both days we were there and was left blaring for long periods causing ear pain. Also..yes more..the phone was nasty looking and archaic/broken and the toilet tissue holder was so rested it was unstuck a bit from the wall. ||We were happy to check out of that place and head back to NYC.

Rundown, needs major updating. Dirty stained carpet in the hall. Elevator panel had greasy fingerprints all over. Sofa was ripped in places and has stains and paint or something all over it. I wouldn't even sit until I covered it with a blanket. The refrigerator doors were filthy with fingerprints, and both the refrigerator and microwave are painted black inside. I wondered what they were hiding. I used my phone flashlight to see, and i was horrified and sickened. There appeared to be mold in the freezer and all kind of grungy stuff on the walls of the microwave. when i saw that, i threw away the ice i got from their machine as i wouldn't trust it. TV was broken, so dim/dark you couldn't watch it and no way to adjust. At about 5am my wife woke me and was deathly ill, and I wasn't feeling great either. We had to cancel a family event and lost over $600 that was unrefundable. We checked out a day early to go home and find emergency care for my wife. 2 hrs later my wife felt almost 100%. The emergency room nurse practitioner told us my wifes reaction was most likely caused by the mold in the room. Not at all what I expectedt from a Windham hotel. I will definitely not be back. PS beds and sofa were horrible and uncomfortable. one of the worst sleeping experiences of my life. the only plus was the hotel front desk girl was very nice and refunded my money for checking out a day early due to my wife illness from the room mold.

My family and I came for a family emergency we had 2 separate rooms. The one room the ac did not work, and room was dirty! The second room the tv did not work and when we reached out to Kristine the assistant manager she had me go down to front desk myself to get another remote because she said she can not leave the front desk as if her being store staffed is a customer problem, well when the other remote did not work I went down in the morning for breakfast and we told her she said with a attitude “ I will get there at some point today”. The shower leaked awful as well. The breakfast at 638 was emptied, cold and dirty tables and yet breakfast started at 630. We were supposed to be here for a week and after first night we went somewhere much better! Id say pay the extra money and don’t waste your time or money here , you will regret it!

Absolutely the worst hotel experience of my life. No linen service over the course of 4 days. A staff and linen shortage was cited repeatedly as if it was my issue to solve. The room wasn't cleaned once. I had to get my own toilet tissue and take out the garbage. Desk staff was rude when I raised the issues two days in and told me that preparing rooms for check ins was a bigger priority. I had my two sons with me and I cannot believe they had to experience this. I received a 30% per day refund but it wasn't enough. Management said they would follow up with me to see if there was a additional compensation available but the timeline they suggested has come and gone. AVOID this place at all costs.

Positive: The front desk staff were so professional and accommodating. We were recognized and greeting as we walked through the lobby. Negative: Our initial room was not what we expected. The connecting room had a noisy occupant and the size was too small. We went to the front desk and they immediately upgraded our room for a small fee. The second room was exactly what we expected.

The staff was very nice, but the hotel itself is beyond rundown. Clearly they attempted to spruce it up with new carpet and paint a few years ago, but cheaper out on that since the carpet is already fraying and doesn’t fit in places. The sink was old and cracked and had yellow stains. The wall had patched holes, the wood work was cracked and peeling. The curtains were torn, and worst of all there was an orange stain on my pillowcase. Definitely avoid.
