Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Fairmont - Hotel in Fairmont - 20 Southland Dr, USA

Positive: The bed was comfortable. It was clean. Negative: The locks and key cards did not work well. The tv wasn¿t working (no signal; check antenna connection). Toilet would run every couple minutes all night. No help from front desk when I reported problems.

Absolutely horrible experience. Rooms are in nice shape but service is just unbelievable. Had extended stay and have been over charged twice by hundreds of dollars within two weeks and can’t get a refund and are blaming it on my bank when my bank has not seen any kind of refund attempted. Will not clean your room I’ve asked multiple times for a cleaning throughout the week finally just ended up asking the front desk for the vacuum myself to do it. Breakfast is hardly ever served, waffles are always there but that’s it, always out of all juices and the syrup for the waffles… Not a very good experience at all and would not recommend.

NASTY! Room was filthy. Stains on the stools and chairs. Stains on the bedding skirt and accent. Carpets did not appear to be vacuumed and were also stained. Fixtures were coming apart and loose on the wall. Heater was broken and would not shut off. So with it 25 degrees outside, we set it at 58 and it was so hot I couldn’t sleep. The mattress had no cover under the sheets and was stained and gross ( saw this when we woke up the sheets were untucked ). Mattress worn out, sagged in the middle and very uncomfortable. The cable box was a disaster and the remote would not turn the TV on or off. Staff was friendly but seemed bothered when I told them about the room. Their room key programmer took almost 10 minutes to key two rows on keys. Owners need to close and renovate this dump. Best part about the stay was a clean hot shower and when I checked out. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else.

Positive: Convenience Negative: The couch cushions stained and so was the pull out mattress to couch! The handicap accessible rooms do not need tubs just a walk in shower with safety bars. Bathroom when couple staying needs 2 washcloths 2 hand towels and 2 bath towels for each person!

The hotel is average. Price is very affordable. One of the nicest hotels in Fairmont/White Hall WV.||||Only complaints are the microwave sounded like it was on it's last leg. No freezer area in mini fridge and the door handle needed to be twisted up instead of down which was only confusing the first time.

1. We had originally booked for one night & then needed two nights & asked to stay an additional night & was assured that it wasn't going to be a problem. While out with family, we received an email with our receipt indicating we had checked out. It took 4 calls & 10 minutes before we got through to hotel staff to figure out what was going on. I was told we had checked out & though all our items were still in the room, they were boxed up & placed in storage. The hotel had our contact information & didn't call to clarify.|2. Issues with toilet having a slow drain and we had to clear out a clogged toilet. We had to wait for room 124 to bring the plunger as they were having the same issue.|3. Something was crawling & scratching in the wall by the bed. We went & got a staff member, who came in & also heard the scratching sound. Everyone agreed that there was some type of animal or pest in the wall.|4. The morning breakfast was delicious, but we were woken up early (before 6am) both mornings, because of the setup noise. The beds were up against the wall that had the counter of food. Not to mention the constant clink, clanging of the food containers as they were opened & closed by other guests.|

Room was generally ok but needed some maintenance. Sink and shower was extremely slow to drain, tap in Sink was loose. Common areas were quite dirty eg elevator doors and walls, walls around light switches, door knobs covered with dirty fingerprints. Locks on entry doors didn't work. Floors in breakfast area were badly in need of a vacuum. Friendly lady at check in.

Place was in very poor condition. Not as pictured on Expedia. Dirty walls, dirty carpet, tv was Jerry rigged. Breakfast food was cold. I left after the first night and still have not received my refund for the 2nd night. Expedia is still trying to get them to refund me.
