If you have never been to Mexico, you don't have to drive far! And, you don't need a passport! Just $6 & a taste for adventure.😉 I had lunch here with my son, who just moved a 1/2 mile away, & I have a feeling he will eat there often. Plenty of vegetatian options, & I chose a potato & veggie taco that was delicious! So much to choose from on the menu, & a fabuloso salsa bar, self serve! The gift & grocery store has everything, & all straight from Mexico! My favorite, the leather boots & varied piñatas! Vámonos y comamos!

I loved my gordita. I only have a 30 min lunch break, so I suggest you call and order before you leave for break. And they have delicious tamarindo drinks. I've been craving real Hispanic/ Latino food since I moved from Houston, Texas. This is as good as it gets here in Ruston.

This place is a true gem! They serve baleadas that are super soft and tasty along with pupusas, which are hard to find in the area. Definitely will be coming back to this place 😊 I didn't get the chance to take a pic of the baleadas, because I ate them once I got them 😂

I enjoy myself every time I come here! The food and the service is great! If you haven’t been, it’s a must!!

It's a really cute Hondurian, local, "hole in the wall" spot. There's a grocery/retail store on the other side, but the restaurant part is quiet whenever I go in. If you know Spanish that's a huge plus, but the waitress is always nice and we find a way to communicate and watch the tele while we wait for our food. The energy is like being at home. Mi Casa = my home. I ordered the Sope and my mom ordered the tamale plate. The plantanos con crema is soooo good. It's very fulfilling. And I love plantains.

I just want to preface my review by stating that they have the best coffee I've had in a while, in some very pretty ceramic mugs. It's worth it by itself, and ask for "El café del caballero". It's a small, quaint place that focuses on Mexican and Centroamerican food, with generous portions, friendly service, and excellent prices. I suspect it's family-owned, and it shows on the staff's warm demeanor, with interesting small talk and delicious food. There is also a shop with domestic and imported goods, although I didn't buy anything from there. Plenty of foodstuffs and leather goods there! All in all, a surprisingly warm and tasty spot in Ruston.

FEB 2023: The baleadas were excellent (like a quesadilla meets a soft gordita). The bread was so fresh and were well filled with beans, cheese, eggs, meat, fresh creama, and avocado slices. Queso blanco dip was perfectly spiced & also their 4 salsas. Will definitely be back. (The breakfast menu looked amazing too.) Waitress was very sweet, but English was definitely her 2nd language (helped that I know a little Spanish) ... but, NO buffet here as previously advertised, other than a small salsa bar. (Biggest part we disliked was the house flies near the salsa.)

La mejor Comida de la Ciudad (the Best Deal in Town)! Authentic street tacos are only $2.50 each (with an even better deal on 5 tacos!) & they have an awesome self serve Salsa Bar to go with it! Salsa Fresca...Pico de Gallo... Red Chile (🔥!)...Avocado Salsa,..diced Onions, Cilantro & Limes! Service is a bit slow so be prepared to wait 15 minutes. Servers are all friendly & cheerful! Atmosphere takes me straight back home to the border of Mexico. Signs in Spanish & everything you could need at the Mercado, from ripe Mangos & Queso Fresco to Boots & Sombreros. Sorry, no Mariachi Band (thankfully)!
