MF sushi does it all with fresh fish, sleek decor, awesome service and a diverse drink menu. We tried a bit of everything and loved pretty much all of it. It’s nice to have all of the options. The Crudo style options probably stood out the most in highlighted the freshness of the fish. The nigiri was all incredibly fresh and tasty (suggest trying the sea bass as something new) and the rolls were different and fun. The wagyu beef preparation and accompaniments is also a nice difference. We really had no complaints at all. Glad I finally tried it and it lived up to the hype. service was exceptional the entire night!
Excellent sushi with outstanding wine and spirits list. MF sushi presents a fine dining experience in an elegant venue dominated by wood-based, modern interior design. The fish is the highest quality and prepared to maintain a nuanced flavor profile sticking to the more traditional Japanese cuisine. Their wine, cocktail and spirit list (which includes plenty of Japanese whiskey and sake offerings) is well built and drinks can be easily paired with whatever dishes one may choose. The service is very attentive, in fact a bit too interactive , constantly asking questions and interrupting conversations creating a rushed experience. We have visited the place several times already and will certainly return.
A recent visit to MF left me pleasantly surprised and impressed! The "Deluxe" cocktail was incredibly refreshing, and the sushi rolls were a burst of delicious flavors. The ambiance is perfect for a relaxed meal, and the attentive servers enhanced the overall experience. If you're there, definitely try the "Deluxe" cocktail—it's a game-changer. Highly recommend this place for a delightful sushi and cocktail combo!
Be warned that if you eat here then you may never enjoy other sushi restaurants the same way. The chefs are clearly so good at what they do and the food is phenomenal. Their service is fantastic and the atmosphere is perfect. We had the spicy tuna roll and the chef special nigiri, both of which I would highly recommend.
We had a great experience at MF Sushi. We got lucky and were able to book a last minute reservation at 6:45 on a Friday. The restaurant was busy, but not loud. We could easily have conversation across the table. Highly recommend the baked lobster tempura, A5 wagyu skewers and nigiri, and the signature nigiri otoro and salmon belly. The crafted cocktails were also great.
We did the Omakase, and it was the best meal I've ever had. It was around 23 courses over about 3 hours (around 2/3rds or 3/4 nigiri). Every single course was incredible. For drinks, i recommend the ancho or old fashioned. The service was incredible. We'd love to do it again at some point but it is definitely a special occasion meal (360 per person tax and tip with 2.5 cocktails each) .
MF sushi is the best sushi restaurant in Houston. period. My boyfriend took me to MF sushi for a sushi dinner. I love the sushi and the margaritas. A++ service. The server is knowledgeable regarding the sushi options and sushi picees. I dined like I am a sushi conneisour from Japan! The salmon is freshly harvested from the oceans of Norway. The Norwegian salmon company delivers salmon once every week to this restaurant. The sushi chef learned his sushi skills from Japan. He is an authentic sushi neer. The restaurant hosts bands from Scandinavia every friday. MF restaurant offers valet parking and garage parking. If you desire complimentary parking, you need to consume $50 or more in a single setting. The sushi has black pepper and Negri should you desire more flavor. Ask your server for MF sushi's secret menu. You cannot beat sushi from MF sushi. I guarantee it. I love this restaurant, and you should love this restaurant. A++ food.
Not my first time at MF Sushi, but the last time I went, I really experienced much more than a normal sushi place. Service was excellent, food was delicious and exotic. Place is little pricy but worth it. The sushi experience is off the chain. To have a fully great experience, book the sushi bar. You'll have to order sashimi to taste the different fresh cuts of fish. Located in Museum district, valet available. Highly recommended. Cozy place and perfect for dates.
