mezeh - Mediterranean restaurant in Springfield - 8406 Old Keene Mill Rd, USA

Honestly, I was very disappointed this last time I ordered a bowl. The bowl sizes got really small. I did not get everything I requested and got very small portions for everything. It was maybe 3 tbsps of chicken shawarma, 4 leaves of arugula, no feta, and maaaybe a spoon of turkish salad. I had to mix it well to see if there was crumbled feta in it, but nothing! No turkish yogurt dip…This is definitely not worth $13, I’d rather go to Chipotle and get a lot of food for the same price.

Loved this place from the moment is stepped inside. It was clean, inviting and the ambiance was perfect. The food was beautiful, crisp and fresh. I can’t wait to learn more about Mediterranean food—I didn’t understand the sauces and the clerk didn’t understand me so I didn’t get a clear explanation. Some of the sauces tasted bland, but I’m willing to try again.

WOW, my husband and I ordered the Shawarma Dream and we LOVED it!! You get a lot of food for the price. Neither of us could finish ours, so we have leftovers. We also got pita bread on the side. You get a piece and a half of pita, and we also had leftover of that. Highly recommend.

The location is in a pretty busy area. The food was delicious. The staff made it easy to order and did not skimp on any of the items I asked to be added to my bowl. The inside of the restaurant was very clean. There seemed to be a constant flow of people coming in to pick up food; however, there really wasn’t a wait. Only thing I wish was different was a better selection of drinks.

This was my first time dining here. I enjoyed the meal. I ordered the shawarma dream. It was pretty good. I loved all of the different types of hummus, baba ganoush, and vegetables. I thought the shawarma was a little bland. The seasoning was a bit weak for my liking, but overall it was a good meal.

Tasty food with plenty of selections/ingredients that allows you to customize your meal per your ever changing desires. I tried their chicken kebab and falafel and both were tasty and authentic. Their wrap, pita or bowl add-on ingredients are fresh and flavorful. Get as many as your heart and palate desire or keep it simple; you can't go wrong! I would recommend not adding more than a handful of ingredients otherwise it becomes an unidentifiable heap of a meal. Their baklava is sweet and buttery. Comparable to Cava. Cava limits the number of items you can add (which might be a good thing). And I do prefer Cava slightly more than Mezze. But I highly recommend both! Change things up, try both!

I have been to countless Mediterranean restaurants in the greater Washington DC / Springfield, VA area. I consider myself an expert in Mediterranean cuisine - I am from the region and struggle to find the same ingredients, spices, texture, and presentation from my homeland. However, this Mezeh located on Old Keene Mill Rd in Springfield, VA is far and away #1. The cuisine is fresh and delicious; the establishment is always spotlessly clean. The driver of the success of this location is Chef Ome, who is a prime example of friendliness, professionalism, and he is a consummate master at his craft, especially his falafel. It is for these reasons that I give this Mezeh location and Chef Ome specifically my highest recommendation!

Didn't know about this restaurant before. First time trying mezeh, and I was surprised that the food was actually very tasty than expected. I thought Chipotle was the only one 😂 I'll come back for sure.
