Mexcalito Taco Bar - Mexican restaurant in Amherst - 17 Kellogg Ave, USA

Our group went on a local food tour of Northampton and visited this location on one of our stops. It was wonderful. The tacos were excellent! I had a terrific Margarita. Our server was so patient and provided excellent service. A must stop for any visit to Northampton. Hope to be back again!

I was lucky enough to randomly visit this place and enjoy the food and atmosphere. They had decent tacos, pretty authentic. I really like their fresh guac, and their carnitas and birria are really tasty. One thing I would recommend is to make the margaritas with a bit more alcohol. It was more like juice when I tried. Other than that, highly recommend.

The chips were so thick and hard that I thought I was going to break a tooth. The guacamole tasted like it came from a frozen bag and the green and red salsas tasted like nothing. It was so bad we left before ordering our meals. If you can’t do chips and salsa right, I have no faith in the rest of the menu. Service was lovely.

I’m from Texas. Before Mexcalito opened, the only Mexican food I would eat was from another restaurant in Amherst. Mexcalito is even better than that one! The atmosphere is fantastic. Just wish they had tortilla soup. :0)

Came here for the first time last night for my birthday with my family. I wanted something fun, but also easeful and low key, so we came early, at 5:30 (it was a Saturday night). It was just perfect. Our server, Isaac, was lovely and attentive. None of us were drinking alcohol, but he helped us by offering a refreshing mango-seltzer option. The food was delicious — everyone was extremely satisfied with their meals. Corn tortillas were warm and soft, and the beans and rice that comes with every meal were the best I’ve had in a long time. Three of us are gluten free, and there’s plenty to choose from on the menu. All in all, a great meal - I highly recommend this place.

Great tacos and amazing cocktails. Their selection of rare mezcals and tequilas is off the hook. We were in town dropping our daughter off at camp and were in the mood for Mexican. After surveying the options we chose Mexcalito as it sounded authentic. We love Mexican food and beverages, and know tequila and mezcal drinks pretty well from travel and frequenting some of the better Mexican restaurants in New York and Boston. All I can say is that this place is completely legit and up there in terms of the quality of the food and drinks. Antonio the owner is from Guadalajara Jalisco the birthplace of tequila. Antonio made us several cocktails off the menu including a mezcal hibiscus concoction that was sublime. The tacos were varied and unique with soft corn homemade tortillas. And the price was reasonable for the meal we had.

Well what can I say I ran across an ad on Facebook and said to my friend let's try it. When we came in to the restaurant they were very welcoming very informative and answered all my questions and concerns that I had having allergies. We started with the fry quesadilla with pork and let me tell you it was delicious once you bite into that pork and that melty cheese inside it's just heavenly. We continue to order a lunch special which included five tacos of your choice rice and beans and let me tell you that I was not disappointed I think my favorite one was cochinita pibil. Those pickled onions were delish. we also had street elote and that was fantastic we had a margarita made with Mezcal. It had a smoky flavor to it but it complemented the rest something that I do recommend. and we finish our day with churros that came with caramel and chocolate sauce. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food I definitely recommend. Also they have live music and salsa dancing

The food, drinks, service, decor, literally everything was perfect. I was blown away when we walked into this hidden gem. We were immediately greeted with a big smile. We were seated right away and the services was amazing! The food is to die for!!! The drinks were so tasty!!!! I highly recommend this spot!!!!
