Merrion Row Hotel and Public House - Hotel in New York - 119 W 45th St, USA

In the age of the modern glass high rise, it’s crazy that a place like this exists in the heart of Manhattan - but I’m certainly glad it does. I stumbled across Merrion Row while trying to find a hotel convenient to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade that would accommodate a member of my party who does not use elevators (often a struggle in city hotels). Just half a block from the middle of Times Square and situated perfectly on the parade route, the location of the property is everything. ||Once inside, the level of calm on the first floor sharply contrasts all the happenings outside. Something about it feels almost sacred - it’s like coming back to a relative’s house, rather than a hotel. The property is what you would never expect from a NYC hotel - charming, personable, and intimate. Little touches, like playing Irish radio stations, made the property feel all the more authentic. The first floor wasn’t quite a lobby as much as it was a pub with a desk for check-in (which we loved). The room was quite small (think cruise stateroom size) though the size wasn’t surprising given the property’s age / location. The bathroom was very nicely designed and almost as large as the sleeping area itself. ||Overall, customer service was good - one woman who worked the front desk was especially friendly and we adored the two guys who worked the bar (they had A+ energy and we would come back just to hang at the bar!). We would definitely keep the property in mind for the future - Merrion Row is a place you don’t want to tell people about so the secret doesn’t get out, but it only feels fair to give the property the love it deserves.

My wife, son and I went to NYC for a few days over the Christmas holidays and had a fantastic stay. The location was perfect for Times Square, Radio City, Bryant Park and all the holiday festivities. Shona seemed to go out of her way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable during our stay. Daniel was great in the Public House, he was there in the evening pouring pints and there in the morning making sure you received a great breakfast. A special thanks to Jayson and the rest of the staff at Merrion House. Please make sure that you stop by Connolly's next door. We were in there a few times during our trip and always found the staff to be wonderful. While we found all of the bartenders to be great, Lorraine was excellent in making a customer feel welcomed. I highly recommend the Merrion Row Hotel and Public house and look forward to our next stay when in NYC.

Don't think twice - definitely book a room at Merrion Row for your stay in midtown NYC. The minute we arrived, stress melted away! All the staff were engaging, helpful, and fully committed to service. We enjoyed dinner, breakfasts, coffee breaks - all delicious, well-priced, and enjoyable. Our studio king room gave space and comfort. We have already recommended Merrion Row to friends - and will stay here on our next visit to NYC. Merrion Row defines hospitality!

Ok. I am leaving 5 stars because of the service and hospitality. I was also impressed with 25$ voucher that I could use for meals. I then was blown away by how good the breakfast was. There are so many options in NYC and it’s nice to know that you don’t have to go to far for a nice meal. So yes I highly recommend this place because they were very professional with there guest services. Thank you

NYC Marathon - A slice of Irish hospitality in the city that never sleeps My wife recently stayed at the Merrion Row Hotel for the NYC Marathon and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The owners and incredibly friendly staff make you feel right at home with their top-notch hospitality and service. The room was spotless, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable, appreciated the quietness of the room - it was a relaxing oasis from the energetic city outside. The hotel's central Midtown East location proved perfect for accessing all the major sights in NYC, such as Times Square, Avenue Shopping and Central Park. It's just steps from the subway which made navigating the city a breeze. Travelling alone I felt very safe and secure, also having such great local knowledge made my stay there that much more enjoyable. A standout was the mouthwatering breakfast, lunch and dinner. The chef uses fresh, local ingredients to create a delicious menu - the Irish staples are excellent and always enjoyed! My wife also valued how the staff and the hotel owners, Anne and Bernie both went out of their way to ensure my stay was perfect. They made my entire Marathon experience that much more fun and enjoyable. Their attention to detail is unparalleled. For an outstanding NYC stay with genuinely five-star hospitality, I can't recommend the Merrion Row Hotel enough. It's now my only choice when we visit New York.

My wife, teenage son and I spent a few days at Merrion Row over Christmas and had a wonderful stay! Shonna was superb at making us feel welcome and giving us tips on where to grab drinks and dinner. Jason was a great guy who befriended our son who loved talking all things NY with him. Daniel mixed great drinks for happy hour and a night cap. Loraine next door at Connolly's was so fun we went Saturday and twice on Sunday to watch football and enjoy a pint. We will definitely stay at Merrion Row again and recommend it if you are looking for something more intimate than a big box hotel (which we normally stay at). Cheers and Happy New Year!

The room was small but clean. The best part was the quietness of the room, even with being in the heart of NYC. Close to theatres, subway, shopping. |The food and drinks were excellent. Shona seemed to be there nearly every moment we were in a common area and she was so friendly and helpful. Made us feel like we were welcome and family! Food in the pub and restaurant was excellent. Lots of beers on tap.

We booked this small, unheard of boutique hotel in the middle of the theater district at the insistence of my wife who was tired of big chain NYC hotels. What we found was a charming, small, personal hotel in a great location. It was impeccably appointed and had very friendly staff. On the down side, the rooms were small and there was no room service. There is a charming restaurant on the main floor. Will definitely keep this as our midtown, go-to stay!
