Merriman's Kauai - Seafood restaurant in Koloa - 2829 Ala Kalanikaumaka St, USA

Climb the stairs to a new height of cuisine, service and atmosphere! This is certainly the place that is tough to match. In the home stretch of this year’s visit to Kauai, this was a real treat to the taste buds and giving myself a special night out. What a memorable experience and good-bye gift to myself, as a solo-traveler.

Merriman’s Kauai is excellent and the best location by far. Excellent fresh seafood, great service, great atmosphere (open air dining with perfect temperature year round). We’ve been here many times, most recently for their Christmas Day dinner. We were completely stuffed from their 3 course meal. We will come back every time we visit Kauai.

Last night was a meal we will talk about the rest of our lives!! Go for dinner around 6:45 to experience a beautiful sunset dinner. Robby our server was an absolute professional - it’s rare to have such flawless service and his knowledge and understanding of the restaurant immediately relaxes you. Food wise - every dish was lick the plate good. The best Mai Tai on the island, stellar smoked fish dip appetizer, gorgeous Caesar with not a hint of wilt to the leaves, and of course the Mac Nut fish main. If you love Marsala - you need to have that signature dish, it will have you see stars it’s so good. The Ma Kai was also incredible and if we didn’t have the Mac Nut would’ve sung it’s praises - perfectly balanced sauce that matched the fish. We ended with two desserts and while we were full I don’t regret a single bite. A must eat in Kauai. This restaurant group knows how to put on a performance.

This the best food I’ve ever had. So much so that we came back a second night and got lucky to find a table another couple no-showed. We got the Ma Kai and Macadamia Nut Crusted Fresh Catch both nights. For appetizers we had the cru one night, which was delicious and a cheesy fish spread the second which was my favorite! The bread pudding for dessert was very sweet, but perfect and served with vanilla ice cream. There was live music our second visit. I would come to Kauai just to have another dinner here.

My husband and I loved our experience here. It was recommended by a friend. We were seated at a window table with a great view. Our server was attentive, informative and had a great demeanor. He explained not only the specials but some of the dishes. Our food came out quickly and looked and smelled amazing. My husband had the ono and I the macadamia nut fresh catch, which was mahi mahi. So savory. Relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend Merriman’s. Reservations recommended.

Firstly, my server Tina was exceptional. She made wonderful recommendations and was attentive to a T. Onto the food/beverage: - The drinks, including the signature Mai Tai with lilikoi foam, were just amazing. Coco Loco was fun and felt like Hawaii in a glass. Delicious, bright, interesting, and boozy. - The appetizer special was poisson cru, recommended by Tina, and was next-level delectable. The wok-charred ahi was also phenomenal. The flavors, wellness of the sear, and quality of the fish were to die for.

Highly recommend the Duo plate! Spicy margarita was just perfect not too spicy. Wait staff and hostess were absolutely phenomenal, highly attentive to customer.

Alex was a fantastic server, she paid great attention to us. It is our honeymoon and she gave us a glass of champagne! The food was phenomenal and the view is even better! Highly recommend the papaya fennel salad. 10 out of 10!
