Meritage Restaurant - New American restaurant in East Greenwich - 5454 Post Rd, USA

I have been going here for many years, but never on a Mother's Day, but since it's my favorite we decided to go with a party of 11. I found it very different from past visits. Lots of new faces and menu changes not for the best. Drinks were not the same. Food was good. Service was 4 out of 5 . I missed the familiar faces like Derrick coming over and asking how everything was. Very odd the place wasn't as packed as usual lots of bar seats which was rare and empty tables. Please bring back the zippy shrimp my favorite.

We arrived for our reservation a little early on a Wednesday, but the staff sat us immediately. The restaurant was not too busy at 5pm and we were able to converse easily, but as it got busier we needed to speak louder to hear each other. That being said I think the restaurant had a great atmosphere overall. My biggest gripe is with the steak I ordered, which was a bit unevenly cooked. Some parts were perfectly medium rare while others were more the medium-medium well range. The steak was delicious otherwise and I enjoyed the meal. The staff was very nice and it didn't feel like they were trying to push us out while we sat and enjoyed coffee after the meal. Overall it was a great visit and I would go back again.

This is a decent establishment, with a nice array of items on the menu. We made reservations for 7:45pm on a Saturday night in March 2023. Understandably, the restaurant was busy and we weren't seated until around 8pm. It was several minutes before our server tended to us. I ordered a rum runner to start. I ordered a special of the night, a 14oz. ribeye with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The ribeye also had some sort of mushroom butter compound on the steak. I asked for the steak to be cooked medium, but it was cooked quite inconsistently and definitely a bit over done, medium-well level. The taste was pretty great, and the mashed potatoes were very flavorful. For dessert I ordered the creme brulee. Worst I've ever had - super gritty, possibly undercooked, and just unflavorful. Others in my party ordered the flaming s'mores ice cream cake, which was just full of filler really. The marshmallow was overwhelming and the coffee taste of the ice cream did not complement the dessert well. I don't blame the server for being slightly inattentive because the restaurant was very busy for a Saturday night. I likely wouldn't return, but I'd recommend the entree. Acoustically, the restaurant is very loud - even in the small rooms off to the side. Due to a large group and a full dining room, parking was very limited and many people parked in the grass in front of the parking lot.

The snacks were really tasty. The drinks were strong and delicious. The waitresses were very responsive. The place was quite full.

Service was great, the food, not so much. Drinks were good.

I showed up on Monday night to celebrate my birthday with dinner and drinks with a friend of mine. First of all we showed up 45 mins early for our reservation, but they were able to seat us right away, and the waitress was very attentive our food was served right away, and it was very good. After dinner, the waitress brought our dessert to the table with a lite candle which was so sweet of her. At the end of the night the waitress then said the dessert was free and wished me a happy birthday again. She really made my night that much better!!!!

Great place to dine,meal done to perfection. Waitress very attentive to every detail. A culinary experience.
