We used this location as a mid-way stop on our way to and from a further destination. The cabin was clean, well constructed and equipped with microwave, mini-fridge, heater, and TV. The restroom facility was clean. Our check in was easy. They had a small dog run for our pups. We were satisfied.
If you're camping in a tent, don't go here! The sites are immediately next to the highway, they probably shouldn't even offer those because it was just insulting. Positive was the staff was nice and moved us to a further back site or offered a refund.
1st time using a KOA and we were very happy! Sites were a good size, clean, we booked a pull thru for 1 night. Staff (Ashaunna) was polite, kind and very helpful! This KOA even has a takeout menu with Delicious pulled pork and smoked beans...delivered to our campsite! Unreal! Only downside is the I-55 highway noise. However to be expected when so closely located.
The description of the campground was not adequate. It is located literally feet off of the 55 freeway in Memphis, and so loud that the campground owners put hearing plugs in the welcome kits. There’s no place in the campground that we could escape the noise, it was intolerable. The office was closed from 12 noon until 3 PM for lunch. We tried to cancel because it was just not a place we wanted to stay and could not reach anyone at the campground. Supposedly, KOA has a one hour satisfaction guarantee but this one refuses to honor it. The attendant said they would refund our deposit because we tried to contact them, and they were closed for three hours, even though 1 o’clock is the check-in time. I called the manager today and she rudely informed me that the attendant didn’t know what she was talking about. She said they put the ear plugs in there for the tent campers. I would never stay at this campground and would not recommend it to anyone else. If anyone is thinking about staying here give it a second thought unless you don’t mind such a loud freeway noise that you can’t sleep. We have stayed at any other KOA’s and they have all been great, this one is not what I would consider up to KOA standards. Nov. 17, 2023
We use a RV spot. Roads are pitted and ungraded. During rain water would not run off and huge puddling remained for entire stay of 3 days. Laundry facilities all needed maintenance. Several out of order and what was left took up an hour and dryer well over that to dry. Either KOA or this location has been sold and is noticeable the lack of repair and maintenance. Not only did we deal with sounds of Freeway but also the train.
Had a good stay at this campground. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The park was clean, as were the shower facilities. They even have a cafe there that will bring your dinner to you. I would recommend this park as a great place to stay. It was especially nice being so close to Memphis but still feeling safe and in the country.
The KOA is just off the I-55, conveniently located for visiting Memphis just across the bridge. Bathrooms are old but clean. No handicapped stall. Our site, #5, was located close to the outdoor shared kitchen area, laundry, pool, and bathrooms, BUT everyone used our site for a walkway. We had little privacy because of the near constant foot traffic right through our camp. Do NOT book site #5 if you value your privacy. There is a train nearby but it didn't bother us at night. The KOA has farmland on both sides. We sat outside in the evening and it was very pleasant for about an hour, then the biting flies came and drove us inside. Staff was friendly and helpful.
They offer an inhouse dinner and breakfast menus. We had two Graceland dinner which includes a pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, beans, chips and cookies for $12.99. We also ordered a barbecue think crust pizza for under $15. You can order it when you check in and they'll deliver to you site when you want. Their food is fantastic.
Waffle and Pancake House is absolutely an awesome place to eat. Best breakfast anywhere. Staff was super friendly. Pecan Banana Waffle was so very good, biscuits and gravy was just as good. The Big O'l Breakfast was amazing. We highly recommend
Great place and nicely decorated. The service was excellent. The food was delicious. I had the grilled catfish, and some shrimp. Everything was well presented and hot.
