I loved the atmosphere here, sitting outside on a beautiful night with some great music there isn’t much better. The Blackend Chicken Alfredo was definitely our favorite, along with an Ace Pineapple Cider. Some food was missing some salt but overall everything was pretty good. They offer a nice variety of adult beverages as well, there’s definitely something for everyone here. I would definitely come back just to enjoy a bite and a drink on the patio.

Imagine a grown up grilled cheese and then add an air of sophisticated melt in mouth dazzle the taste buds kind of goodness. This is the place for that. The leeks, the arugula, the cheese, the jam, everything was amazing. Service was very good, food came out pretty quickly. Don't let the fact that you need to get a giant spoon attached to a key to use the restroom. That is strictly a matter of logistics in the way that the building is arranged.

A pretty mellow spot that has dog friendly outdoor space. The food & drinks were pretty good. The nachos were good, but a bit heavy in the sauce. The server was great. Would come back just because of the solid server.

Two burgers, a chicken sandwich, and a hazy IPA. My burger had blue cheese, and bacon with garlic fries. Unfortunately, my niece's burger bun came out burned. We were surprised that the kitchen, and server, would accept that. My wife enjoyed her chicken sandwich and said the chicken was tasty. There's only one hazy IPA and it was great with the burger. Melville generally has good food and no wait or a short wait.

Went on a Sunday after the brunch crowd. We were told it would be a minute or two wait, but it ended up being 20 minutes. We were okay with that as we chose to sit outside, and it was a really nice day. (Inside had plenty of open seating and the hostess did ask if we would rather be seated immediately inside.) We didn’t order drinks and, clearly, our waitress wasn’t thrilled with that choice. We could tell as soon as she took our drink orders. We did, however, order two orders of wings for appetizers. We had three people in our party. We had a food allergy in our party and the waitress didn’t want to be bothered with a question or two, and kind of threw an attitude about this. Which was VERY disappointing. The waitress forgot to bring out the requested condiments, and after asking she still forgot them. She also never refreshed our drinks. She did ask if we wanted refills on our drinks as we were paying our bill - a little late and I think she just didn’t want to be bothered with getting them, and knew we would say’ “ no thanks” because we were already gathering our items to leave. The food was served hot and looked great when it came out, but the burger was slightly under seasoned. The meatloaf definitely was under seasoned, but the food was pretty good otherwise. The cauliflower that was served with the meatloaf was cooked from a frozen mix and had zero salt or seasoning on it. Pulled pork sandwich came out buttered (even though we requested it dry due to the food allergy.) The fries were crispy and creamy in the middle - the best part of our meal. So now we have tried Melville’s in-house and we did take-out previously. Ironically, take-out was over salted. So, maybe it is consistency that needs to be looked at. I will say that those with drinks looked happy and seemed to really be enjoying their meal. Maybe we should have just stuck with a mimosa or two. All in all, I’d say give it a try but hope you get a helpful server. I think the experience might have been better if we would have had someone helpful and who wanted to be there. We usually tip really well because we know jobs in the service industry are really demanding and they can be hard, but we couldn’t justify leaving a great tip for poor service on this visit. We probably won’t visit again, as there are so many wonderful restaurants in the area that combine amazing service and delicious food.

Came here for our anniversary, and let me tell you, we regret going here. It takes some time to get seated because the person there seem to be occupied with other customer complaining about something. We should have realized that is the sign for us to walk away, yet we were still oblivious. Here’s where it went wrong: Got seated, the server took our order without taking any notes. I ordered for a pasta and my husband ordered a burger. After waiting for a looooong time, my husband’s burger came. And then waiting for another long time, a different server brought me different dish than what I have ordered. When we told them we didn’t order that, he left and the girl who took my order came over and insisted us that I ordered that dish (the wrong one). Told her what I actually ordered and she finally remembered after a little bit back and forth. For someone who’s wrong, she was really adamant that I ordered the other dish. Obviously it’s hard for her to remember, since she does not have any notes to begin with! Another mess up: husband asked for a beer on the menu (he pointed at the menu when he ordered, which was not on tap), yet when the check came out, turns out she had ordered us the one on tap, which is more expensive than the one my husband pointed in the menu when he ordered. When confronted about this, the server rudely said, “that was what you ordered.” And when we told them we never requested the one on tap, they just dismissed us and acted really rude. Even when we asked for to go boxes and a bag for our leftovers, they seem to be ignoring us after that. I wouldn’t let our anniversary mood got ruined, but they tried pretty hard at it. Overpriced, bad service, but pretty okay ambiance. One star for the good seats.

The atmosphere was really nice; I love the big windows! The server was really attentive and friendly; she will come once in a while to check whether we need anything. The food was great, I think it was the best mozzarella stick I had (the size was so huge though). The blackened shrimp salad was pretty awesome as well; I love the grapefruit and the pistachio combination, as they add a unique flavor to the salad. I actually came here for the duck pizza because I had been craving for ducks for a while. I never had this kind of pizza before; besides duck leg, there was marmalade on the pizza. The sweetness of the jam fits perfectly well with the duck. Although it was a bit pricey, but the restaurant did put a generous portion of meat on the pizza. I would want to revisit this place.

Stumbled upon this place on our short list of dinner spots for a Friday night in Monterey. And I'm glad we came. Upon arrival watch for the parking signs. This place shares a complex with offices and the other businesses have many spaces reserved in the parking lot. Atmosphere is cozy plenty of tables for small parties (4 or less) and quite a few tables for large groups. Saw a few multi families sharing a meal. They also have outdoor seating also, but it was closed due to the rain. We were seated quickly and greeted shortly after. The gentleman who servers us was patient with us and recommended the blacken chicken sandwich for me over the burger, and it was good. Honey got a burger and she enjoyed it. The bbq wings are a little spicy so beware. The pineapple cider ale was great too. Love trying new drinks at new places and if you like pineapple this is a good choice. Overall would recommend for a quick bite or date night.

The food was delicious and the beer too. We even got offered water for our pup. The food did take a long time to get prepared but it was worth the wait. We were the last customers to get seated in the outside area. Had a pleasant time.
