Melton Hill Dam Campground - Campground in Lenoir City - 201 Campground Rd, USA

Super nice near W Knoxville, TN! Beautiful campground operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA)! Easy on and off access to I-40 and I-75. On water, pretty views! What more could you ask for? We stayed one night passing through, but will come back for a longer stay!

My husband and I spent a night here camping and it was a wonderful experience. The front office ladies were so nice and helpful. We stayed at spot 47 and it was incredible, highly recommend! Make sure to reserve by phone first!

It was a great place for swimming and walking. Tent sites are small, good for one tent with others being off kilter. Trailer /rv spots are very narrow along with the road to maneuver into areas. The tent site area needs own bathroom site, as having to share with the day use area that one gets desteoyed. It only has one toilet, a urinal, and single shower. It isn't a bad distance from tent site depending on where your spot is, however if ya really gotta go, best luck on distance and having the toilet available. There was a incident where an individual had fishing gear stolen from boat that also sways my review. There is a NO pet area near swim area however, lacked on enforcement. The small camp store also has random hours. Overall nice area just needs to be updated a bit.

Had a great time at Melton Hill Dam. Launched our canoe and explored the lake side. Saw a Bald Eagle which was very cool. We were able to fit our 40ft motorhome in site 31 without any problems. Very nice site but we did have to back down a short distance when we left (our choice to do so) because if we had went out the way we were supposed to the rear of the motorhome would have definitely scrapped the asphalt. It only took a short distance, literally 2 minutes, for us to back down the way we came up and we were on our way. Highly recommend visiting the American Museum Of Science & Energy and taking the bus tour of the town of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and how the town played a part with the Manhattan Project which is only about a 22 minutes drive from Melton Hill Dam Campground. A shout out to the staff who keeps the campground clean and enjoyable for everyone 👍

We have stayed at Melton Hill several times and always enjoy our stays. The campground is kept nice and has wonderful views. The only reason for 4 stars is the lack of cell service in the campground.

This year Melton Hill campground has just had a time of getting camp hosts BUT…Lloyd and Shelley somehow have worked miracles on the upkeep of the campground. Not only is it kept totally mowed and weed eated, they are always happy to assist with smiles. These two work 7 days a week, many hours a day. It’s looking beautiful. Now, if only TVA would get that new bath house up and running. It’s been set up all summer, concrete poured then dug back up, and it doesn’t appear TVA is even working on it. Come on guys, Lloyd and Shelly are doing 4 couple’s jobs - send them a new bath house.

A week before our scheduled stay the campground manager called to let us know there was a mistake and our site had to be changed. It was an upgrade to a site with sewer hookups. Checked in and settled in our campsite with ease. Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Went in the nearby bath house and it was very clean and in good working order. We brought our large dog and there was plenty of outdoor space. We will definitely return when visiting TN! Site #38.

We rented Pavilion 4 for a large Memorial day picnic. Staff was very friendly and helpful! We decorated and it was so nice! Everyone had a wonderful time and some even brought their dogs!
