Mel's Craft BBQ - Barbecue restaurant in Park Ridge - 24 Main St, USA

Came across this place while looking for options around Beer on the Wall. So glad I tried it! I got the two meat platter with brisket and pulled pork and sides of slaw and beans. It was a generous portion that I split with my boyfriend and felt very full. The pulled pork and brisket were so moist and delicious and loved the sides as well. We also got to try a little of the turkey and it was also great! The staff was also super nice. I can’t wait to come back and try everything else.

It was my 1st time ordering from this place. Found them on Google maps and,honestly, they exceeded my expectations. Ordered Two Meat Platter . Can't say it was the best bbq I have tried, far from that, but also can't say they were bad. Too much fatty meat instead of plain one. (meat look weird, right?) But ok. Sides were decent, and you also get a fountain drink. Update: I know you are closed, this is a late review that I forgot to post. Originally, it was ordered 11/27th, and my fresh review from that time is on Doordash. 😉 hehhe, anyway I like your response. Don’t worry, once you open again, maybe you will get a better review 🤷‍♀️

The platter, although the quantity is up to the par for what you pay for, the taste of those meats just makes it worth the experience. The brisket was cooked really well. Crunch on the outside and soft, tender on the inside. The ribs had some really good flavors and it just was super easy to cut through making it fall of the bone experience. The Nachos, had some really good crisp to it and you can never go wrong with getting it loaded. Definitely recommended for some good BBQ.

Couldn't wait to try this new restaurant and I must say " Welcome to Park Ridge!" The ribs,brisket,and Turkey was so tender and delicious. The sides we tried were great. The sweet potato potato salad was a hit and I'm not big fan of sweet potatoes. The chopped salad was huge and filling.Drinks were fresh and quenching. Upon entering was warmly greeted. Staff were helpful in ordering to make sure you got enough of what you wanted. Might take time getting used to because you order protein by weight. Loved the fun vibe, decor and rustic brick walls. The owner made a point to greet everyone and make sure they were happy. Bartenders and runners were knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely hit up this place regularly. Can't wait to come back with friends. Came back last night for TRIVIA night and had a blast! Enjoyed testing our knowledge against other people. Had the salad and nachos they were great.

I was disappointed. Food : brisket sandwich, tender but needed lots of sauce. They didn't have any I liked. I like tangy but theirs had vinegar. No thanks. I tried their "sweet" which it wasn't. 2 stars. Coleslaw was spicy which I didn't like, I'm not sure why you would do that. Plus, it was a teaspoon worth. 1 star. Pit beans weren't tasty, I have no idea what they did to it. 1 star. Service : fast and friendly. 5 stars. Atmosphere : very nice interior and seating area. 5 stars. Hard to find parking. 1 star.

Excellent food and Megan (the bar manager) was an excellent hostess with the mostess! Was here for lunch so not yet busy. I took Megan’s suggestion and ordered the three meat combo with the potato salad and corn bread. Very satisfying meal and the three sauces (you really didn’t even need them) were also very good. Definitely a repeat visit and a new BBQ favorite.

I must say, I read the reviews before I stepped in. Whoever gives this place less than 5 stars is outright delusional and so petty. My experience was great. My wife and I both loved everything about Mel's. Mel himself recommended our dinner. Sides we're great. Cuts of meat were even better! Very clean, great customer service, and overall our experience was great. Recommend the chili's and the pulled pork. Check out Mel's, you won't regret it.

Came to see what Chicago BBQ was all about and found this place that said the owner went to Texas to learn how to make BBQ and it was great. Has 3 types of BBQ sauce homemade potato chips pickled jalapeños, onions n pickles, I just tried there brisket and it was very moist.
