What a charming neighborhood find in the UES! We had passed this establishment many times in the daytime and never noticed . Then we had the opportunity to wonder in one evening on our walk. It has wonderful decor and an inviting vibe on the inside. And A Great and amazingly talented piano player! We came on a Thursday. Excellent bar food though selection is limited. The jazz band that followed the pianist were great musicians but the vocalist was horrible. Surely they could find a woman singer in the great city of New York who can actually sing. Disappointed in the music. Beautiful space with amazing ambiance and wonderful service. Will definitely go again. Hoping the next time there’s a better vocalist with the band. We actually snapped out of the dream and left because the singing was so bad.
Super cool spot with fantastic service, great drinks and good selection of bites. I really love the decor, it’s so elegant and a great addition to the neighborhood. The live music was so wonderful plus I made some new friends! Can’t wait to go back. In addition the ac worked well and it’s spot less clean and the chipped ice and crystal glassware is fabulous. Very diverse crowd too. Check it out!!

I got the blueberry nights and my date got the old fashioned. All good, service a bit slow but they apologized and said because Monday nights are usually not as busy. I could see that because around 10 it was all empty, but after we were there for an hour it was suddenly packed with a group of people. Would go back here for a drink with friends too. Live piano which is also ++
What a cool location and bar. The music was awesome, the vibe was incredible, the staff was friendly. The bartender was so quick to get us our drinks even though the place was completely packed, i was so impressed. The cocktails were delicious. Highly recommend
I used to live a block away when this was the Bar & Books. Melody’s is quite an upgrade! From the improved air quality, to the gorgeous wallpaper and the lively music from Isaak James, it’s glamorous yet intimate. The Let’s Fun cocktail is charming and complex in flavor. I’m already planning to go back.

However, upon departing, the bartender's negative energy overshadowed the positive aspects, significantly affecting the overall impression. Despite the establishment's overall charm, the bartender seemed to act as a vortex for negative vibes, creating a stark contrast to the rest of the venue's inviting atmosphere, ultimately leading to a lower rating. While everyone can have a rough day, such behavior is substandard for a place of this caliber. The apparent lack of management intervention in addressing the bartender's attitude raises concerns about their oversight in other areas. While eager to revisit this gem, the prospect of encountering the same bartender, regardless of mixology prowess, is a deterrent due to the energy-draining experience. Additionally, the uniformity in all-black attire and matching jet-black hairstyles among the staff raises curiosity and stands out as an intriguing aspect deserving of an explanation.
Came here on a Friday night at around 8pm, the place was busy but we were still able to get a table. Drinks were okay, not overly pricey. Be aware you'll get a $20 music surcharge, so make sure to spend at least an hour there to get your money's worth. The live music was very nice however at some point it got so busy and loud that I could barely hear the band (we were sitting in the front part). The service was extremely slow.
