Meijer - Grocery store in Oak Creek - 171 W Town Square Way, USA

Great hours and fantastic selection. I'm from out of town and stopped in for some groceries and was blown away by the size of this store. I've heard it be compared to Walmart, which is true in terms of the product offerings, but it is so much better than Walmart! It's clean, well-stocked, and the staff is nice. I'd definitely be in again!

I don’t shop here too often, but the online pickup is fairly easy, so I occasionally do that. My orders have always been correct, but a few times the produce was pretty rotten, and if something is out of stock and your order falls under the minimum spend total, you’re charged a service fee, which seems unfair. I’ve contacted customer service about these issues, sometimes they were resolved and sometimes not, but it was such a hassle it really isn’t worth it. The store inside is spacious, easy to find things in the aisles, but quite a few things out of stock. I tried the self scan in store a few times, but then you have to wait for an employee to come and scan select items and count what you have, and it took so long it kind of defeats the purpose. Update: just came here for an online pickup, checked in, waited 20 minutes and nobody came. Two people came after me and received their orders, so I canceled my order and left. Too many other places to shop, sorry Meijer.

Great selection of groceries at fair prices and decent coupons. The non grocery items are overpriced in my opinion since it's just a big box store so I don't buy those items here. My biggest gripe is that twice in a row I went and they had one cashier who seemed like he was trying his darndest to get fired - no greeting, no eye contact, slower than molasses at his job and not even a "thank you" or anything when finished. I cashiered in college, I get that it can suck but this Ethan guy is making his own life harder with his attitude. I'm sure store management keeps him there because they want people to use self checkout but I'm not a fan of that for many reasons.

What is the deal with the deli??? I worked in a deli for more than 10 years and there is just no excuse for the time it takes to order one or two things. Every single time I come here it takes 15 to 20 minutes just to get a pound of ham and a pound of cheese. The employees walk like they have nowhere to be regardless of how long the line is. They roll their eyes and argue with each other. If you ask for anything shaved, brace yourself. They will not be happy and also will probably just not even do it. Sometimes I even opt for prepackaged lunch meat because I don’t even have the mental capacity, time, or patience to deal with it.

Six years ago I gave Meijer a 5 star rating. Today, I'm knocking them down to two. I have placed two pickup orders from Meijer in this span of 6 years. The first pickup order, the attendant dropped a box of Lacroix on the ground and it broke open. I heard him putting the cans in my trunk so I assumed everything was fine. When I backed out of my spot, I ran over a can and saw others laying in on the ground. I had to walk in with the broken box and missing cans to customer service (and my kids) and ask for a refund. Today, my pickup order was canceled with no apparent explanation. I tried calling and customer service seemed annoyed that I even called them. They transferred me to someone who also didn't know why, but said they would have the person in charge call me. 45 minutes later, no phone call. A few years ago, I bought chicken that was rotten and I didn't notice until I came home and opened the package. Their fresh produce is often molding and rotten as well, or simply out of stock. Extremely disappointing, especially with a store that started out so nice and new.

Prices marked incorrectly from what they rang up as and the most pitiful cake display if you are looking for something last minute

I rarely, and I mean rarely, like never, write a review on anything. But I'm at my wits end with this store (Oak Creek, WI). In particular the customer service counter. The people that work at that counter need serious training on customer service. The older lady that was there today is never friendly. She never smiles, never asked if she could help me, just looked at me. I had to tell her what I wanted. And she is sooooooo slow. In fact, I won't even go to the counter there if there is even on person in line. I wouldn't even go in this store but it's like a two minute walk from my apt. Today was just the tipping point. 8 out of 10 times they are chit chatting with another employee. One time she wasn't even behind the counter but by one of the check outs talking and looks at me then goes back to her conversation and didn't go behind the counter until she was done. Unacceptable. Hopefully someone from their corporate office sees this.

This place has gone so downhill. I've wasted money on fountain drinks 3 times in the past month because theyre still out of every flavor. Marked prices are consistently wrong. Redeeming discounts at the gas station doesn't work, wasting points. They never have any actual checkouts open, only the self checkouts so they don't have to pay their staff. From now on I'll just spend more money and drive to Target. Update: I just went through the amazingly terrible self-checkouts and one of the items didn't have a barcode on it so I asked the attendant what she could do and she said she didn't know what to do and I would have to run to the back of the store and write down the UBC myself and bring it up. Amazing.
