I’ve really enjoyed taking my dog here in the past when driving through Medical Lake off I90, but this time the trailhead was closed with no warning. The sign said “No Trespassing - State Institutional Grounds”. Bummer!

When I feel like taking my board out, and don't want to drive for an hour, I head to medical lake. I like the lake because it can get windy, and this means I have to work harder on the paddleboard. It is not a huge lake, but big enough if I want to just get some exercise. I have learned to head to the North end of the lake because I can park close to the water, there are not a lot of people there and I can easily get my board inflated and in the water without a crowd. If you have kids, and feel like a picnic, I would recommend the other end of the lake. There is a pretty good size grassy area, and easy swimming
A lake known for it's medicinal properties since Native American times. We saw a halk swoop in and catch a fish from the lake water surface. There are no motors allowed on Medical lake so the walk is very peaceful.
Nice flat trail. Give yourself an hour to go around the pond.
I would not recommend swimming here as there is a lot of algae.
Its a great spot its clean and theres plenty of room.good for family BBQ.play some volleyball or softball.or just walk theres a nice trail.

The pizza here was PHENOMENAL! Bonus - they offer a gluten free crust. Location was full of the local high school memorabilia, which I personally love. The customer service was wonderful and the location was well kept!
