We have been going to Meadowbrook Inn for years and absolutely love it. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean and well maintained. The breakfast buffet is prepared by their chef and never disappoints. We love being able to walk into downtown each day and walk to Bass Lake and watch the sunrise. It is our favorite place to stay when we are in the Blowing Rock and Boone area!

Love Meadowbrook Inn. The location is perfect....walking distance to downtown. Breakfast is good. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The only criticism I have is this. They redecorated and the furniture is not comfy and fluffy like it was. The lamps used to have USB ports for your phones and they're gone. The put up new curtains directly out of the packaging so all the curtains in our room were wrinkled and had box squares in them making it seem cheap. I would stay here again because we like it. They just should have paid more attention to the details.

The good points first, excellent location to downtown and good breakfast. All of the staff I spoke with were courteous and helpful. They are a highlight of this hotel.||The bad, beds were firm and pillows were flat. The A/C blower was extremely noisy and blew with high velocity to the point of overriding the TV sound. The elevator in the annex was completely shutdown with a sign indicating parts were on order. The elevator in the main building could not be called to the first floor. This caused the staff to run the stairs to retrieve the elevator. The staff has had to do this for almost 4 weeks. The rooms have had improvements with new furniture but the old no longer used wall anchors have not been filled in and painted over. The room darkening curtains are torn and tattered. The covered unloading area at the lobby has not had the ceiling repaired in a few years. I have stayed at this hotel many times and it is sad to see it go through a slow decline. I suspect this is due to upper management buying up nearby hotels thus lowering the repair budget for this once grand Inn.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but I feel compelled to warn other travelers to stay away from this place! We were so excited to stay in a suite with a private pool and king bed after 3 days of hiking and camping along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Unfortunately, Meadowbrook Inn was a huge disappointment. The building itself is run down and our room was not clean. There was mold and water spots in the bathroom and pool area, ants in the room, the outdoor balcony was dirty with multiple spider webs, and the room itself looked like it had been cleaned very quickly and we found dust and lint on the surfaces in the room. The pool water looked dirty and we found hairs and a hairpin on the ground around the pool. I called the front desk to let them know and was told by the GM that the room and pool had been deep cleaned and inspected by her and the assistant manager prior to our arrival. When I mentioned finding ants on the counter I was told that it was probably because “it’s raining hard outside,” and asked if we wanted someone to come spray the room for ants. The sheets and towels were clean and we stayed because we were exhausted, but this wasn’t anywhere near the quality we expected for $300+ a night. I know hospitality work is tough and we didn’t want to be “those” customers, so we let it go, but we expected more for the price of the room. We stayed in a roadside motel on this trip for half this price that was much nicer. We should’ve paid more attention to the negative reviews, which we decided to overlook because most were older reviews, but sadly our experience was the same. Such a disappointment. Do yourself a favor: save your money and stay somewhere else in Blowing Rock!

We stayed in the annex in one of the rooms with a pool downstairs.||The good (great, even!) was the location - very central and walking distance to just about everything - the memorial park, plenty of restaurants, local trails, you name it. Parking is plentiful and free. Free coffee and fruited water, and cookies in the afternoon were nice. The breakfast was filling and hot, albeit with powdered eggs.||The bad is fairly extensive. Our room had a sliding door from the bedroom to the balcony with a broken lock, meaning the room was never quite secured. Secondary to this were the ants coming through that sliding door into our electronics. The annex rooms seem to have been renovated recently, but to a fairly low standard. 20+ year old microwave, fridge, phones seem to have been retained. Light bulbs are dim and randomly thrown together - the two lamps in the bedroom had lamps with different wattages and color temperatures. Sofabed was deeply uncomfortable even for small children, and we had to ask for sheets. Upon opening the sofabed we discovered significant debris under the sofa; it clearly hadn't been cleaned for quite some time.||The pool area downstairs in our room was what can only be described as filthy. The problem is that the flooring material is a 1970s style pebble dash which catches dirt and debris and a) is not easily cleaned, and b) makes it difficult to see dirt through the various shades of beige and brown, so mess gets missed. The same material is used in the main indoor pool, and my children had a blast diving for abandoned hair ties (5!) at the bottom of that pool. Not so fun was the wad of hair and other trash around the edge.||Perhaps the most irritating issue though is the cheap room keys they use. They demagnetize if you so much as look at them incorrectly and can be erased by phones, other magnetic cards, etc. We went through a total of seven cards by the end of our four-day stay, and it is aggravating to say the least to be standing in the hall of the annex at the door of your room, windows open to the outside, dripping with water from the main pool, and have to slosh back to the main desk because your key has amnesia. Even less fun when you've returned with your family from a long day of hiking and have a screaming baby to contend with.||The staff were a definite mixed bag. Everyone under about 25 was bright, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast staff were great. Some of the older front desk staff were downright surly. Maybe the situation in the main room is better, but I definitely wouldn't stay in the annex again.

It was my first time in the Mountains of NC. I had a blast, and your Inn was relaxing and had wonderful Customer Service. I definitely will book a week or weekend trip with family or friends. Your Town was an awesome experience and I had fun visiting all your cute shops!! I bet it's beautiful during Christmas.

We throughly enjoyed our five night stay. Our room and bath were large and we especially enjoyed the sun room where we could sit and read or just enjoy the view. The breakfast was good and offered items appropriate for meat eaters and vegetarians. All of the staff that we interacted with was kind and accommodating. The rooms have been updated and you can tell there is more work to be done. The elevator in our bldg did not work (which we knew prior to booking) and the one in the main bldg was also having issues. It was challenging to get our luggage upstairs and would not be appropriate for handicapped. It appeared to be much like the elevator on “Big Bang Theory” if you watch it ;). Hotel is very well situated within walking distance of several restaurants and downtown. We would recommend! Wish there was a way to post pictures of our very large bedroom and bath.
