We were passing through on our way back to Idaho. The kids & dogs played in the water for a little and enjoyed the sun while my brother fished. It was nice! This was our first time here and we will be back.
Beautiful wildlife refuge; great place for a hike in the winter as long as you respect "leave no trace" and the fact that it is indeed a wildlife refuge.
Fun. Nice water. We always bring a empty garbage bag to clean up other peoples garbage left scattered every where. But besides the trash , broken glass we always have fun there.
Beautiful lo action! Came out here with some friends to relax due to a long week. This was my first time to this area. Was well maintained. The sunset while we were there was amazing and not long after, the wildlife started to say hello. There were several coyotes speaking to each other and saw an owl up in the tree next to us. I will definitely return here sometime!
Great peaceful place to cool down on a hot weekend!
It's super fun but can be dirty at times
Fresh temperate waters only real drawback is mosquitoes at dusk
Took a long drive to visit on a nice day. Checked the website first for alerts. It said the kiosk was closed. Got there and the gate was locked. Seems like a poor choice of words for explaining that the place was closed to visitors. It would be nice if the communication was a little more clear.
An incredibly eye opening experience! We left with a completely different view of the history we've been taught compared to reality, so sad, and wished we could apologize to everyone on behalf of all the awful things we did to all the native tribes.
