John McDonough was an extremely generous man and left money for the city to build a multitude of playgrounds and over thirty public schools. This is a large playground with a football field, stands, a covered basketball court, restrooms and playground equipment. The problem is vandals constantly tear up what kids should be enjoying. Other than that, this would be a great place to play.
This playground has the potential to be amazing. The kids are always out there playing basketball & football enjoying themselves but the play area is horrible and the lights are hardly working. The kids can’t play football bc there are missing lights around the field. The kids always complain about not being able to see the football in the air because certain areas are dark bc the lights are out. I understand that the park director put in a request to have the lights fixed months ago but NORDC hasn’t sent anybody over to fix them. Let’s hope nothing bad happens out there bc there little to no visibility on the field bc NORDC is neglecting to fix the lights

Basketball Court for the Youths Upgraded to NBA standards but Childrens Play area neglected! Slide has hole in it! No swings just the frame that holds them! Restrooms locked as usual.

This is such a beautiful oasis on the edge of the city. You have the river on one side, a pocket of calm greenery and then a view of the city beyond. There are statues and small fountains through out. The path is smooth and easy to navigate.

My little Lola bug was making friends! Great neighborhood park all around, not too big but plenty of room for the dogs to stretch their legs. Bonus great basketball courts and a cozy coffee house across the street.

This was one of my favorite museums during my visit. I learned so much. Didn't know about the free People of Color in Louisiana. Imagine if they had been allowed to thrive... how different America would be today.
