This is one of my favorite little parks on Lake Whitney. The sand beach is wonderful and the spots for RVs are always full because they don't put them on top of each other but are spaces throughout the park.
The trails for horses are also decent for walking.
My only complaint is during summer season it's insanely busy and I like it so much during the off season when there's almost nobody else there.
Very clean, I pick up trash when I see it but it's rather rare. It's clear people respect the land. Ran into many friendly folks on the beach, who were so nice even when the elderly dog in our group kept coming over to them. Great park.
Nice place to sleep close to a few of my hunting spots!
Went back the following weekend and there where other campers in the spot I had reserved already had there camper set up and lounging, it was a simple scheduling error on the website the couple had thought they booked 2 nights but mistakenly had only selected 1.
The park manager figured out What was going on and got us upgraded to the equestrian area at no extra charge which will be my new site selection going forward as it's beautiful on that side of the park.
We camped (site 60) here two times (October and December) and had a great time. The shower/bathroom/trash area is close by. It is not crowded, and the environment is clean. Pups had a great time swimming. There are horse stalls, boat ramp, hiking areas, swimming area, playground, grills... Our camp site had water, picnic table, and a beautiful view. It is pretty easy to book online, pay, and check in. Gate closes at 10 pm and opens around 6 am. We will come back again :)
We've done a group camp trip here two years in a row. We like sites # 10,15,&14 . They are water front but near a canal of shallow water for the kidos.
This year the women's shower in the bathroom was overflowing with sewer water all the way out to the toilets ..none of us could use the shower It was pretty gross .
The front gate man was not too customer service friendly .
Overall we will be back because of lake Whitney water !
Two of the four restrooms with showers in this park were closed (locked up) when I was there in January 2023. The ones I looked at are in need of some plumbing repair and upgrades in the shower closest to campsites 1-15 to provide a place to put a towel, clean clothes etc. outside of the wet zone. Playground in that area was closed for some reason 🤔
Beautiful trail ride today! The wildflowers will not quit and they are so fun to ride through!
Wonderful place to RV or truck tent camp. There is a sand beach and you can hike to some beautiful locations.

It's just a cool little out of the way spot to walk around, take a picnic and watch the geese and ducks swim around. Watch the geese though, they're kinda shady and will come up to you honking. It was a bit too cold for me to do anything but take a w
Love the ladies at Brewed Awakeningsâ¦. They will make whatever your heart desires and are extremely kind. The burrito is massive and delicious. And that chocolate coffee bean they add on the cups gets all melty and gooey and is perfection. Go! The

We had dinner at The Cove Restaurant a couple of weeks ago. The catfish dinner was large and delicious. Three of us had that and loved it. One had a steak dinner. That was small and not so great. The service was perfect. Waitress was awesome and kept
Tres Hermanos is my favorite drop in spot for Mexican food here in the area. I've been coming here for years with my in-laws and I never get tired of it. Service is great with the servers paying attention to detail. Food is solid with generous portio
A great local grocery store! Produce is always top notch, and they have great specials on quality meat. I don't know what we would do without them. Just look at their parking lot, it's always full.
