McCloud River Falls Trailhead - Hiking area in McCloud - , USA

Incredible 4 mile round trip trail! The breathtaking views of the waterfalls and the relaxing atmosphere of being surrounded by nature was perfect. I was even able to bring my dog to enjoy it too. Most of it is flat with a few areas of incline and decline.

Absolutely beautiful trail! Trail was well maintained although after you pass the campground between lower and middle falls the plants by the side of the trail did encroach on the trail a bit so you have to duck under a few branches and push some to the side but it was just minor. Lower falls is a cute little falls; middle falls is the real showcase, really nice; and upper haha is pretty amazing as well, amazing that water could carve down through the rock like that over so many years. It was a really nice 3+ mile out and back home, highly recommend it.

Loved it! It's so beautiful and has great hiking trails. There is pit toilet restrooms and picnic tables to have your meals. There's also BBQ pits as well. Dogs are allowed on a leash and we seen several dogs enjoying the hiking trails as well. To see the seasonal change in colors of Fall are so beautiful.

Beautiful with the snow still on the ground. The road is still closed as of this review (1/16/21)... but you can trek down the road and through the snow. Would recommend shoes with good traction. There were areas that were pretty slippery.

Got here early in the morning to hike the area before we headed to Burney Falls. This was a very nice area. The falls were beautiful and it was an easy walk from the lower to the upper falls.

Middle fall is so beautiful! Hiking up from lower fall to upper fall and back takes about 2.5 hours considering the time you spend clicking the might middle falls! ;) All the falls have nearby parking place IIRC! Day time camping is allowed. Great place for fishing too. I saw people picking hazelnuts near upper falls. Easy to spot deers and birds. Overall a great place to spend an afternoon.

The trail is longer than what it says online. I would say the trail is about 6 miles out and back (lower to middle to upper McCloud falls). If you are planning to hike, i would recommend starting from middle McCloud falls, the lower falls is more suited for fishing or having a picnic by the water. After finishing the hike, you can always drive to the lower falls for the view, if you'd like. Also, we were very lucky to see a "complete Rainbow" in the parking lot. It was a great day

Great trail for a 1-2 hour hike. Well maintained trails with mix of aging asphalt and well-packed dirt, a dozen+ lovely waterfalls of various sizes with 3 main ones, appears to be some fly fishing too. Probably busy on weekends, trail is not wide in many places (2-3 feet sometimes), so only parts by parking lots are ADA.
