McAllen Heritage Center - Museum in McAllen - 301 S Main St, USA

As a tourist visiting from Oregon, this place was a gem; one of the museum staff, David Martinez, was really knowledgeable about McAllen and the Rio Grande Valley in general, and had a particular interest in the 1890s - 1920s time period. I spent the majority of my time there just talking story with him.

It is donation based museum with awesome artifacts of Mcallen.

Great history of our town and people.

Great collections. Especially the timeline of mcallen development since the early 1900's, with lots of pictures, news articles, and objects from that time. Also the story of UTRGV is there. Great for both locals and tourists. Plus is in the middle of downtown so you can do shopping there too. Last but not least, the people working in there are extremely welcoming. There is parking on site in the back of the building. Free entrance.

I liked to know the history about McAllen, the staff very friendly nice place to visit.

We had a Field trip and it was so educational. My kids loved it we learn so much and it felt like we went on in adventure in a Time Machine to the past!

Such a nice place. Friendly people and always available to answer questions. We'll worth the visit.
