One thing about Milwaukee is you’re going to find restaurants that have lasted throughout the years. But just because they’ve been around doesn’t mean they’re good. Mazo’s Hamburgers is definitely a hidden treasure that many often overlook and just drive past. Mazo’s sits on a super busy street with a lot of people and options. We needed up here after wanting a good meal but not wanting to wait in line at other places near. Upon entering I was extremely nervous because at first glance it didn’t seem like a warm and welcoming place. Once we were seated we were greeted by a sweet older gentleman that you could tell loved doing what he does on a daily basis. When we ordered our meals we were informed that we got a soup option and they were split pea or chicken noodle. I instantly selected chicken noodle. Split pea just didn’t seem appealing but I was wrong. My mother ordered the split pea soup and I got to try a sip and I must admit it was absolutely delicious. It was smooth and creamy but very seasoned. It tasted like it just came out a southern kitchen. I knew at that point I was in the right place. The meal came and definitely disappoint. The burger was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The fries were fresh and hot. This is definitely a south side staple in Milwaukee. If you’re in the area and looking for some good food, don’t hesitate to stop.

After reading reviews and people claiming this was the best burger spot in Milwaukee, I was excited to check out what people call a hidden gem, but will not be going back. Place was busy, but not crazy busy as there were open tables when we arrived and there aren’t a lot of tables. We were sat right away, and waited patiently for menus. After about 10 minutes we asked one of the servers if we could get menus. They brought them right away, and since there isn’t a ton on the menu, we made our choices pretty quick. After another 10 minutes or so, a gentleman came to take our order. After about 15 minutes we asked the first server again if we could get the sodas we ordered. So about half hour in and no sodas yet. She brought them right way, and a few minutes later the soup my girlfriend ordered. She said the soup was good, but hard to mess up chicken noodle soup. More waiting. About an hour after we arrived our burgers showed up. If you like well done burgers maybe you’ll like these more than we did, but nothing special about this food whatsoever. Well done patties, with some tomato, onion and lettuce. I had to hunt down a server for the Cole slaw I ordered instead of soup. I got it after I was done eating. Maybe we were the exception to the rule, because we saw the table next to us at least get menus, orders and beverages much faster than we did, but the overall experience was not good. In a town full of good burger joints, this for me was not one of them.

What an awesome place to eat! Very friendly staff and it's a 3rd generation family restaurant! Jackie and her team work hard to keep traditions alive. Great burger, fries, coleslaw, and a drink for cheaper than fast food.

A Milwaukee gem! An OG burger spot that does their specialty well with care and expertise! I will definitely be back. My burger was made to order and the staff was present and engaged. If you haven't been here before, you're missing out! Get over to the place! Trust, you'll enjoy it!

Stopped in for the first time after visiting a loved one @ St. Luke's hospital. It was mid-afternoon, and the place was almost full capacity. We were greeted right away and told a table would be cleared off asap. It's a small, cozy place. We ordered, and the server warned my husband that the burger he ordered a double cheeseburger was 2/3 of a pound so my husband decided on a single 🙃 which was very kind of the server to do. The burgers came with 2 sides! I chose Cole slaw and French fries and my husband chose chicken noodle soup and French fries. The fries were nice and crisp, and the Cole slaw was in between the mayo/oil based type. My husband's chicken noodle soup was that of which your granny would have brought you when you were home sick from School. I couldn't resist ordering a chocolate malt at a place that made you feel like you were back in a scene in the sitcom Happy Days. Not all places know how to make a malt, but Mazos delivers in the soda jerk department! The memorabilia and music playing just smoothed my heart and the food made my pooh belly so very happy. Thank you for making MKE a Better place for a Burger !!

Mazo's is a great Milwaukee burger diner for almost 100 years. A south side staple. The Supreme Burger (bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato) with sauteed onions was super good. A good sized burger and cooked just right. Check the days open and hours before going. Soups are also great.

What a great diner. The man that waited on us was super cool. Hamburgers were delicious!!! French fries were perfect - and the chicken noodle soup was divine!!! And so reasonable! Love the vintage ambiance.

Burger was well made and fresh! I would say it's almost on the level of a five guys burger. Fries were fresh so I would give them a solid 8. They are crinkle fries and not overly salted. No complaints 👌🏽

Better than most places in the area service-wise. Literally took 5 times of repeating my order (ketchup, mustard, pickles) to get it right. This was after asking if I want bacon on the bacon deluxe. The food is always tasty, but they have a bad habit

Very good service and food. Chili was fresh with big chunks of meat. I had the patty melt no bread, threw some chili on top. Waitress was nice and told us about the two clocks. Great midnight snack on vacation and affordable.
