We were here for a casual date and the food turned out great. I really liked the mushroom risotto as well as the fried oysters. We also ordered pork belly for appetizer, it was a little too dry for me but that’s just personal preference. Definitely get the risotto tho, and their cocktails were tasty, especially the chocolate one!

Everything was full of flavor and delicious. Sauce that came on the steak was dream worthy. So so good! The pork chop was cooked properly and was tender and juicy. The sides were spot on, green beans had an excellent crunch. Definitely worth trying! We had an excellent and sweet waitress, Joyce. Overall, a fabulous experience.

The restaurant where we had intended to eat was closed on a Monday so we stopped here, as we were walking by. We were asked if we had reservations. I answer that we did not and asked if we should. Immediately, the host checked and pleasantly welcomed us to a table. We were directed to use the QR code to view the menu, which I always appreciate. Being late in the evening, I only enjoyed the appetizer of fried Green tomatoes. They were perfectly breaded and laid on top of pimento cheese and topped with pickled red onions and some sort of fresh greenery. It was all so complementary to each other, no sauce or additional flavor needed. My son very much enjoyed the fall-off-the-bone rack of ribs, macaroni and cheese made with white cheddar, possibly and side of green beans. Our server was very helpful and attentive. As the hostess was passing by again, my son inquired if they had a phone charger available for him to use. So kindly, she took his phone to the front and connected it to a fast charge which made the long ride home so much more comfortable for him. I'm so glad that we stopped here! We were sitting in the back room with a small group of locals that seemed to have met for dinner. It was a very pleasant atmosphere, with lovely art on the walls that offered a contemplative focus.

A down to earth venue between downtown and the University of Virginia campus, Maya is one of Charlottesville's true restaurant gems. From colorful, vibrant servers like Say (yes, that's her name) to absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked food, to its collegial atmosphere, this bustling restaurant is a must for anyone visiting Charlottesville. Every bite exploded with flavor from appetizer to dessert. We were taken entirely by surprise by Maya. We had heard good things about Maya, but were not expecting this restaurant to be among the very best on our ten state tour across America's southern states. Five out of Five stars. HIGHLY recommended.

We dined at Maya for the first time recently and it won't be our last! The items we chose for dinner were delicious, and being vegan it's not always easy to find dishes that can be modified, however the server made recommendations and the chef made it happen! Our server was delightful, the food was amazing, and we look forward to our next visit!

My wife and I had an amazing dining experience at Maya! The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation was impeccable. The staff was very attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The ambiance was perfect, creating a delightful atmosphere for a very memorable meal. I can't wait to return and savor their fantastic cuisine once again. This restaurant is a must in Charlottesville. Highly recommended!
