Different trail choices make this easy moderate or challenging depending on what you choose to do! Love how convenient it is and yet you feel like you are far away from the city!
First, the hike is nice and beautiful, not too hard.
However we had to drive here and the directions showed directly the trailhead, not the parking lot, and so we had to take a bit of a detour to get back to the parking lot, since the trailhead is on a private road, open to park employees only.
I am usually looking for hiking trails that are kid friendly, which was partially right in this case as our hiking stroller didn’t do its job really, so at some point we turned around and went back.
Parking was plenty, there was a bathroom too and tables an benches for picnics.
The trails had small pockets for us to stop and “hide” when other people were around. This allows some social distancing. Other than that, it wasn’t too crowded and people mostly were wearing masks
Another weekend and we did the otherside of Squak Mountain trails, this trail called as " Squak Mountain May valley Loop trail" which is on South side of the trail.
This quiet, little-used trail wanders through a lowland forest and up the South side of Squak Mountain along Bullitt Creek. At the top of the mountain, join the network of trails that lead to a beautiful view of Mt. Rainier (we couldn't get it due to weather) and the historical remnant of the Bullitt Family home.
Squak Mountain East Ridge is a 6+ mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Issaquah, Washington that features a great forest setting and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Started Saturday morning looking for a good elevations of 2K+. Loved the forest feel, after sunrise we heard echo from gun range.
Quiet trail. Only came across one or couple of hikers in an hour. As
mentioned before trail narrows in some spots. Great if you're looking new experience.
Went on a very wet morning and had a great time! Lots of mud and sketchy footing, but we did the May Valley Loop and wandered on some other trail head for a total of 8 miles.
Did the double peak loop trail. Watch clocked 7 miles with 3.5 hrs time. No snow and well maintained trail. Road to TH was good too.
Nice and scenic hike along the woods.
This is a great hike, very shady for hot days. Almost all incline so its not an 'easy' hike
This place is strangely confusing with all the trails converging into each other and through a gravel road at the center. However, I still really enjoyed this natural area. It's kept up on and is especially pretty in the spring. It's great for a relatively easy trail walk that can be a couple miles or 8 miles, and all depends on what you want while you're there and which path you take. We happen to enjoy May Valley Loop since it's longer.

This was short and moderate hard trail. We gained 1600 Feet elevation during this trek. I liked the place clean and calm. We can get both side view south and north.
Really fun trail, went at sunset. Seeing the exposed cables is cool and the hike is pretty challenging. Would not recommend it for beginners. View is amazing.
Great accessible trailhead within the city to multiple trails. You can access PooPoo Point via Adenture Trail, Tradition Plateau, Rainier, Section Line, Wetlands, High School Trail, Talus Rock, West Tiger 3, and more. It's pretty popular and you'll
